might sound ignorant but I always forget the UK has something to offer in rap/hiphop. the extent of my knowledge of it is Jehst. I've dug fairly deep into grime though. anyone else I should be looking at?

This forthcoming Jam Baxter bit is amazing and a bit Jehst-y.

appreciate it, exactly what I was after to get stuck in. agree with you on the forthcoming Jam Baxter bit too.

although after cranking a few of these verb t tracks he seems a little more 'surface', meaning that I'm not sure if there is a lot to gain from repeated listens, or even that there are multiple ways to interpret the lyrics. has a lot of material though so my opinion will probably change after some proper digging/complete album listens.

Yes to Scissor & Verb T, the first two Dike albums & the Contact Play album are classics, other than that their quality control can get a bit mushy, a lot of identikit beats/flows/subjects and too many little groups and side projects to keep track of that have little to distinguish them.

Jam Baxter - Brains is a chune tho, and Better Luck Next Life/Theremin EP are sublime

went to a really small venue in atlanta last night to see ilovemakonnen. he actually didnt come but when "Look at Wrist" by Father went off it was so fucking crazy. Father bumped into me and i talked to this guy who knew MFK from goth money records. would have been insane if makonnen actually showed up tho.
