Re: The Fedora/Cringe thread
yeah record shop and museums are cool. Not been impressed by parks and shit yet. It just smells stale and of generic dirt/pollution. You get grimey every time you leave the house, especially if you go on the tube. I dunno, I'm really not bothered. Unless the stuff I'm chasing regarding actually interesting work I want to do works out here I'm tempted to sack London off. I really don't see the appeal outside of the music scene.
Re: The Fedora/Cringe thread
tbf i don't work for the tourist board so it doesn't really matter
i guess i grew up there so just was always used to that sorta shit...maybe when it gets sunnier go chill on primrose hill with some m8s and beers in the late afternoon evening period, might change your mind a bit

Primrose is the fucking spot!
I feel like the music scene isn't that hot actually. Perhaps I'm not going to the right spots, and my age definitely has something to do with it, but I'm a little underwhelmed in that respect.

Re: The Fedora/Cringe thread
There's good music everywhere all the time. Only thing holding me back is money/work times at the moment. The music scene is lacking the community feeling of other places I've been but still there's music everywhere.
I've not been Primrose hill but honestly. It'll take ages for everyone to get to, probably be full of people and still feel like you're in the middle of the city. I'm gonna be here a few months I'm assuming at least so maybe it'll grow on me but I don't really get it. Everything feels really antisocial up here too.

Yeah, that's what I mean. When I was back last summer, I'd be looking for stuff all the time, but rarely was my interest sparked.RKM wrote:i fucking love it up there, such good memories of just being like 16 and chilling there with m8s cos of fuck all else to do,

I went to King Krule's album launch, the fucking audience was shit though. He played 'Out Getting Ribs' and I felt like I was one of 5-6 people actually singing/moving to it. Almost went to see a James Blake DJ set, but that fell through for some reason.
Nonetheless, what I really wanted to do was go out and catch some Dubstep or something, finally turned old enough to go out to nights and found that I didn't have nights to go to. It was depressing.

Re: The Fedora/Cringe thread
That might be because King Krule and James Blake are shit. Also that almost all dubstep is boring as hell now plus it's been over saturated enough that none of it will feel like a big deal any more. At least out in the countryside there was a bit of excitement to have a dubstep name come down just because it's less commonjesslem wrote:Yeah, that's what I mean. Well nobody's saying you couldn't have a good time in London with a bagful of class As at pretty much any venue, just wanted to hear some good tunes while doing so tbh.

Drugs are fucking boring though. This is music I'm writing down in a diary because I actually want to go see it.

Re: The Fedora/Cringe thread
What area do you live in? I was always in NW, so Primrose wasn't too much of an issue to get to.
Also check out Hampstead heath if you get the time, the view from the top is brilliant. Walking through the woods there is a chill way to spend an afternoon. That being said, it's also up close to Primrose, and perhaps more remote.
I was just having a go at Agent about the drugs thing.
Also, I'm not massively into any of those guys. Paleman's release on SWAMP was really good, actually dislike his other stuff though tbh.
And I don't think I'll ever go to a dnb night tbh.
