^^^^^^^^^^^ Totally forgot that that came out. Thanks for reminding me. Was a big fan when i was a kid.
Half these films get a very limited release over here. I'm forced to use illegal means. The Thais only care for big blockbusters, shitty asian samurai flicks and domestic releases (most of which are crap)

that's quite a shame! But yeah ^^^^^^ highly recommend, I really enjoyed it. It's great in every way, nice soundtrack, it looks lovely, the voice acting is wicked, and the story is good too.

But, I hadn't read any of it before, so I didn't have anything to compare it to. It seems to have good reviews though.

Just finished watching it. Absolutely beautiful cinematograghy, costume and set designs. A real visual treat.
I enjoyed the film, however it seemed a hell of a lot darker than i remember. It had a very morbid feel about it. The original book was quite dark but this took the feeling a little too far (maybe)
Wish i had seen it at the cinema.

Yeah same, this would have been amazing on the big screen... it was really well done. I'm not sure how they did it, I'd guess a mixture of puppets and cgi... puppets being real with cgi faces or something

Mick Jagger should have been shot for this performance. Other than that, a pretty good trashy early 90's sci-fi with some terrible acting and Anthony Hopkins for like 2 scenes.
