people who are "insane" are usually like that for a good reason, and are probably actually ill. i get the whole thing that mental people are stressful to know, believe me, but have known many people who would have done this sort of thing at some point or another and they have almost always been through serious shit and have serious illnesses.

and sometimes people do "mental" things to exes who are the REAL mental ones and who were seriously abusive but have managed to make it seem to everyone that their victim is crazy... and eventually, that comes true. have even thought it myself of people who couldn't let it go when i didn't know the real extent of things that have happened.

anyways its possible for these people to get help and get better. it's really shit being on the receiving end of something you didn't start, and you dont have an obligation to help people you know that are in these shitty places. usually it's impossible for you to help that person given all the baggage and the need to keep yourself sane and live your own life. they need professional help often. but i can't help feeling deep sympathy for them.

Yeah, I'd like to point out by "She's mental. You need ANYTHING to do with her" I didn't mean leave her in the lurch if she's genuinely unwell and you're her only option. I put off breaking up with a girl for about 6 months so I could make sure she got through her Uni course alright when she didn't have a support network around her, but this doesn't really sound like that sort of situation with jayladders... they're obviously a fair bit apart and she's clearly got a social life of her own... it sounds like they're just a terrible match for each other. They both need to walk away to avoid doing real damage to one another.

Setting out to intentionally hurt someone's feelings is NEVER the one... if you're thinking about being mean to someone just to get back at them you need to have a fairly stern look at your own existence. Chances are you need to improve your life longterm, not try and ruin hers to make yourself feel better for 2 minutes.

My advice to man the fuck up, move on and take care of your shit still stands. Your feelings should be the most important consideration right now.
