Getting tired of asking everyone "How are you?", when I actually couldn't give a fuck, but need something to start a conversation.

Turn down is a harsh touch imo.
Could do just as well by having asked her out without mentioning loving her at all, imo. Seems kind of creepy if you say it too soon, seems kind of seedy if you tell them you don't from the bat.

No, at least that wasn't what I meant to say. What I wanted to say was that saying "I don't love you, let's go out some time" could be read as a seedy statement.
Ultimately, I think the appropriate course of action is to forgo the technicalities of emotions and just drop the question(s).

I'm pretty sure the I don't love you let's go out line was sarcastic, but I cba reading the last page to remind myself of the entire story

I'm looking for a solution to the first world problem I identified when I read this page, it's the first one I flicked to when I came to read the thread.

Wait, if there's a specific conversation you're eager to have, to which someone's emotional status isn't important, then you should just cut to the chase and have the convo.
