Btw maccaveli that remix in your sig is mint

And yeah I get what you're saying Sonika, I mean there's a lot of absolute wank on the radio. Like a good 80%. But if you just automatically write it off, you end up missing some great stuff. I for example only recently discovered that Justin Timberlake's music is dope as fuck for the most part. When Futuresex/Lovesounds first came out, I immediately thought 'the guy from NSYNC? Fuck that' and went back to listening to 2Pac or whatever. Maybe its easier to do in hindsight when you're not being forced to listen to the music from every angle, but I can assure you a lot of the songs mentioned in the last 2 pages will be remembered in time, pop or not.

Sexyback is a tuuune

I agree maccaveli, there's some great pop tune, and Justin timberlake is a good one

His voice is also perfect for some sampling

Whenever I hear a song outside of electronic music, I always immediately assess how good it would be for sampling

I think the point was you were like "omg no tune from da noughties is lyk gud and dat bro!" and somebody was like "nah bro listen to dis shit strate fiyah bro" and you were like "nah bro not evn pop dawg" and someone else replied "you aint evn herd dem ave u, bro?" and you were like "nah". At least how that's how i think it went down.

And Gnarls Barkley - Crazy is a tune for the ages. Ayo Technology is also massive.

that outkast song that starts "caroline..." (roses or something?) is great. outkast isn't half bad at all. yes pop literally means popular music but nowadays (last twenty to thirty years or so) there's been such a vast addition of genres in the non-classical music field that pop has also become a characteristic thing like a neverheard garage rock band could have "poppy melodies" and such.. easy accessibility and all that

i also agree with the thing that when you get more older and mature you ultimately tolerate and understand some of the mainstream radio-friendly stuff. if you look past the wall of shitty cookie cutter clone dance tracks you can find a lot of actually good songs.. for example i think lana del rey is great and she got a lot of airplay in the local chart stations

also sonika are you saying you don't rate anything else but electronic music or don't have a history in "rock music" ie haven't hat any fave bands or anything..? it's weird cause i'm used to the complete opposite. the story of me and a ton of people i know that listen to edm is that at first you listen to "normal" music and all you just consider electronic music "all sound the same" and "is made by a push of a button" and only chavs listen to it but when you get much much older you start to be interested about it and develop a taste for it.. sort of a logical "next step" after getting into rock / metal / punk / rnb or whatever, like what world music is to some people

Fuck Hey Ya and the whole "The Love Below" album.

Ms Jackson was one of the only good songs on "Stankonia", "Sothernplayalisticcadillacmusik", "ATLiens" and "Aquemini" are what its about. 13th Floor / Growing old is a classic hip-hop track.

Haha I've only been listening to electronic music for a year

Before that I was into 90s hip hop like 2pac, dr. dre, etc. That's why bassnectar's west coast style of bass music really appealed to me early on
