Not trying to change your mind. But... why not eat what you like, regardless of where it comes from and avoid stuff that makes you feel bad? Basically, couldn't you just keep eating eggs (as rarely as you are)? Why does it have to be full vegan?

Not putting you on the spot, I'm just curious. You always struck me as pragmatically minded.

Edit: never mind, I misread it. Eggs are what gives you stomach cramps
no worries. and you're right, i wouldn't be doing this as a statement, as i never really got why some people get overly serious about their beliefs. i mean, you're free to do whatever you want, fine by me, but i think you should do it for the right reasons and not just to feel special or whatever (see: stereotypical mouthy vegan sxe fat positive lgbt friendly tumblr feminists  )
Haha word. I can't stand it when people try to appropriate really common things as a lifestyle and then act the part. Like yeah, I love bodybuilding, but I'd like to believe there's more to me than lifting heavy objects for fun and that I shouldn't live a certain lifestyle because that's expected of you when you do it.

I think there's a lot of legitemate reasons to be vegan, none of which I agree with enough to commit to the lifestyle. But when people do it for the sake of it and appropriate a completely pre-fabricated personality associated with veganism, I really cringe.

yeah, i agree
i get it when you're like a teenager and get attracted to certain ideas, beliefs etc, especially if it makes you feel apart of a community or something, or it gets you attention (omg i'm totally not like the other kids at my high school). i get it, we've probably all been guilty of doing that at some point. i mean, if i was 16-17 now i'd probably have the most cringeworthy overly serious tumblr out there
but i think with time you kinda start figuring out what clicks with you and what doesn't.

think i mentioned this before, but i feel like now there's a whole trend of being politically conscious etc, at least around my endz. which is not necessarily a bad thing and i know some of them genuinely believe what they're saying, but ffs step off your high horse. congratulations you suddenly realised x thing that's been going on for years is bad; doesn't make you better than anyone else and you can't expect everyone to sympathise or even care. /rant

If you are a vegan you should not be allowed to take medication or have chemotherapy or any other medical procedure that has been tested on animals.

This girl I know is vegan and gets perscribed brainmeds. The capsules are made of animal parts, so she tears them up and just eats the powder, which tastes awful.

In other words. The animal already died for a market she helped create by buying the medication and she still thinks she's contributing to the greater good but not eating the capsules. Derppppp.

And she's obsessed with pugs. She even has one and her mom has two. Like, I'm not vegan, but even I think pugs and other genetic freak breeds like that are some of the worst forms of animal abuse ever. But noo, pugs r cute lol :3 never mind that life itself is torture for them.

Typical example of people who don't care about animals, but just pretends like they do to feel high and mighty.

By that argument, anti-war campaigners should benefit from technological advancements pushed by war.
People of faith shouldn't benefit from science.
And so on...
Life is a little more complex than absolutes.

Not really the same as those things though really is it? People choose to be vegan to try and stop animals suffering but yet take medication which the production of has caused hundreds of animals to suffer. The anti-war analogy would be correct if the technological advancements were being tested directly onto people which they aren't so don't see the comparison really. Why shouldn't people of faith benefit from science? A lot of the people in my chemistry classes are religious.

People demonstrate against war because of the lives lost yet the advancements war brought are why we are able to have this disscussion here and now.
The point about religion is an obvious comparison if you know anything about history, scientist that are religious are equally as stupid as vegans.

Edit: I just noticed my previous point was typo'd it was that anti-war campaigners should not profit from warfare advancements.

Anyway England are gonna get trashed by Germany so can't be arsed being an arsehole on the forum until later.

No. Science and religion deal with different things. Scientists don't use the scientific method in every facet of their lives. So why shouldn't they use religion in the ones where science isn't present? Science doesn't make claims abotu the supernatural, only about the natural. Religion deals with morality and the supernatural. It can deal with the natural as well, but then, religion is open for interpretation.

A pilot isn't creating a market for war, even though the aviation industry is indebted to the arms and military industries for technological progress. But it's not solely reliant on it. It co-opted advancements made by arms manufacturers to be used in a different industry. It created a different market for the same technology.

A vegan patient who takes non-vegan medication is actively contributing to a market that is reliant on the killing of animals.

I'm fine with it, though. It's impossible to be fully vegan in a non-vegan society (though I'm not implying that people should then just do nothing).

one of the stupidest things i've witnessed recently were these protests against the euthanasia of stray dogs in bucharest. i get animal rights n shit but to what extend? certain parts of the city are just full of mean ass stray dogs, people were injured or even killed - one particular case that sparked a lot drama was this kid who got killed in broad daylight in a park. how fucking stupid do you have to be?

this
and even if it's not impossible, still way too hard to be worth it imo
by vegan i just meant a vegan diet. if i were to be tr00 vegan i'd pretty much have to quit smoking and my job since i work in the beauty industry. so fuck that
