I never used to be a die-hard fan and almost intentionally went the opposite way when he died so I didn't look like a bandwagon jumper, but the longer time goes on, the more I'm genuinely upset that 2Pac is gone. Pac had everything an MC needs, but more importantly, he understood what music was for. Biggie's legacy doesn't really come close - truly great MC and a half-decent songwriter, but 2Pac was an artist without too many parallels in 35 years of hiphop.

theres just a hard to define special-ness to tupac for me. dat passion he raps with is like nothing else. Never made a classic album (if his Greatest Hits comp was an original LP, that would have been), but overall a pretty amazing but sadly shortened career

Pac was a poet, a straight forward one at that. He wasn't skilled as a rapper tbh.

The lyrics are so try hard too. Brenda's got a baby is the rap equivalent of when a director makes a movie about an orphaned crippled child who survives the holocaust through the power of learning how to read because they're sure it'll win an oscar.
