this isn't finished, i actually made the entire thing today. but i wanted a slower, more laid back feel with just the slight wobble instead of going all out-dubstep. tell me what you think!

@lowphat owl

love the tribal feel ...great intro. honestly was exspecting a big drop. sub bass REAL nice. you need some work in the drum track change it up. the "crashes" dont sound right. over all great start id fix up the drum track and had some type of melody line and a pad in there to fill in all the spaces.
@Hendy ahh man yeah i dig this. love all the synth work realll smooth man. the wobble may be a little to gritty for this tune tho..
@c4ctopus nice man really like the intro. drop could use a better build. imho a deeper more "sine" wobble would work better.. also dubstep doesnt need a wobble to be dubstep....anddddd id throw a few atmospheric pads to give it some extraness
This is what iv been working on. ive been taking it "easy" trying to avoid the use of wobbles to focus more on a melodic/abstract feel. I will return feedback to those that give.

@kidstrange: Lovely intro really calm feeling to it. Nice atmospherics, ideas & emotion.
Maybe drop some non disorted wobbles with delay to make some edge?
@Chaddub: Not really fan of this style, but nicely executed, nice hihats and
going forward nicely. Low end sounds nice too, not sounding muddy to me.
@Standby: Really chill and nice, love the pianos especially altho everything else sounds very nice too.
Percussion after second drop fits in very well too.
Now here's my new wip;

@chaddub - I'm a bit of a hiphop fan and I think you've got the structure down really, really well. Melodies are nicely written, synths aren't too bad (though they do sound a bit cheap). Doesn't sound muddy at all. I think the drums need more impact though - and some of the synths collide a little so look at your eq on them. Otherwise good job.
@lowphat - that owl samples is grating on me. mainly because i've heard it, or something very similar to it in a lot of tracks. I don't know why. The tune needs some more progression. Imho it gets a little dull after the first 16 bars. Not feeling the drums either, they don't really fit the deep feel of the rest of the tune (imo)
@akkep - need to ease off that reverb a bit. Sounding very muddy. Also the chorused/panning adds to that feel. I'd keep that bass centered as it's a key element of the track. Otherwise nicely produced and looking forward to the finished product

Thanks amphibian

Made some changes lowered reverbs and centered the bass, care to listen if it got any better? Since my monitors are pretty bad for this kind of stuff...

@kidstrange, thanks for the input. and yeah, the buildup is kinda weak. i couldn't think of a good way to get the intensity up without adding too many extra sounds so i cut a corner there

any suggestions for how to make the buildup better? buildups and breakdowns are my weakness

@phybian- awsome intro love chicks voices in dubstep epic drop at 4:35. a little soft for my taste but really well done.
@akkep alot of bubble surreal sounds here, love the spacey atomosphere, also like the weird animalistic sounds at 3:01
@c4ctopus great building, love the piano/wobble combinations at 1:35 keep it up

If you don't want any harshness, follow the fucking rules.
Minimum 3 feedback responses FIRST.

Oh sorry, I was gonna check out the others ones anyways, the problem is that I ain't pro enough to give any good criticism, but I like most dubstep, so i could just spam around telling everyone how great they are and to keep it up

@c4ctopus
try applying pararell compression on drums and tone down the reverb a bit
@ akkep
tone down the reverb and try cutting the bass at around 250-500hz
@acrap
nice tune, try cutting your kicks at around 40hz and boost them at around 5khz and boost your snares at 250hz and cut 250hz from your bass

Yeah, I usually do. That was merged from another topic. I'll hit with feedback in a few.
:EDIT:
As promised:
@akkep: I like the intro. Captures interest right from the get-go. Especially when the bass pops in for a second, just to say "hello".
@kidstrange: I love the atmosphere that surrounds the main instrument. Not enough to steal the attention away, but enough to reinforce it. Epecially the second melody that comes in around 1.30
@c4ctopus: I love the slide in the intro. This piece has a very ambient feel to it. Very chill, almost floating.
So, as said earlier...
I'm working on a dubstep remix of another one of my tracks, but was originally a rock song. And honestly, I'm stuck. I don't know that much about making dubstep and I can't seem to please myself with anything I come out with. I like the way the verses sound, but for some reason, I just can't seem to work any other part to sound remotely good. There are a lot of songs that I want to turn to dubstep, but before I can do this one right, I don't even want to attempt another one.
Here is the original.
Soundcloud
And here is my remix
Soundcloud
What am I missing?
Both songs were done in FL Studio 10 and the remix is relying heavily on NI Massive.

@ Lysergical - The mix sounds clean and clear. The wobbles are spot on. I think you need something to fill the emptiness after the drop though, like some hihats or percussion. Something to make it sounds more natural.
@ acrap - Damn those wobbles. I love that gritty sounding hihat, adds a nice touch to the darkness of it all. Nothing to bitch about so far, great job.
@ Akkep - I fucking love you. Very old school and dark. I really want to hear this when it's done. Everything is spot on so far.
Be ultra harsh with me please, I'm really trying to get better at this dubstep shit.

@voodeedoo you got your bassline pretty much done, i would now take my main aim on the drums and bring them way more upfront, they have a nice compression though, maybe try layering some hi cripsy sounds on top of snare and bassdrum
@5yntax 3rrOR to be honest i feel the parts between the actual wobble way more than the actual hook i would take all the wobble stuff away for now and going for a deep sub; maybe you got the original midi so you can just put it underneath and then maybe try modulating the original sample with filters and stuff
@lysergical you got a pretty heavy base for a tune there; but i would personal like a bit more bottom end on the snare and maybe some reverb on it dunno think it could get hard to get a full length tune with your elements right know; would be great if you could manage to get the instruments from teh beginning back into the track later
@amphibian

haha but personaly would love more actual vocals or phrases ;maybe in a vip?

@ 5yntaX-3rr0R i actually think the song would sound a lot better without those wobbles you got there, anyway, great remix
@ Akkep really liking this, maybe cutt off some reverb tho?
@ Voodeedoo nice bassline mate! id like it a bit thicker tho, and maybe some harder drums
Heres mine, i want your honest opinions, i want to get better, whats good/bad with it? what can i add/change to make it more outstanding? how did you like it?
