dmz doesnt release cds
Dmz doesn't do digital either, apart from on Bleep ages ago, Mala blatantly regrets that
Deep Medi didn't use to do CD or vinyl either, and now look.

tbh if it's vinyl only I'm still getting it and having a mate rip it for me rofl. The artwork looks too delicious to pass up a sale!
Plus in a few years I can stick it on discogs "mint condition DMZLP001, played once" and make a killing

Interesting the "vinyl only" attitude. A good number of these people end up putting it on torrents anyway.
Oh well, the world keeps turning.

if you can't understand why its vinyl only, then you need to study dmz a bit further. watch the mala redbull lecture. they've supported vinyl because they support its culture and history. its got nothing to do with money potential.
when you buy art, you don't get to buy it the way you necessarily want it. the artist owes you nothing. just because the world is full of choices doesn't mean that those choices apply to everyone, just because they happen to suit you.

On the other hand, I owe the artist nothing after buying their release, and have just much a right to rip this vinyl as Mala does to release it vinyl only.
People will get this digitally one way or another, but not doing an official digital release forces people to either pirate it or shell out several hundred dollars just to be able to to listen to a few dozen songs.

this whole thread should just be closed now.everyone know's that the release is coming out, its just turning into some heated deabte and going on some next tangents...

no offence but whenever this subject comes up you do come across to me at least as incredibly condescending...
I am going to buy it on vinyl...i am now playing out vinyl every week...i also like making collages on ableton at home and would have loved to have the tunes as clean waves/flacs to mess with and restructure to my every whim...
Do you really think myself and collige are unaware of this info about dmz?
i bought them all off bleep when they were up on there and there are a couple of deep medi cds now available...i merely innocently suggested that digital may be a possibility at some stage....
If not i am not going to be devastated as i will have the vinyl anyway...

You can do as you please buddy, you can rub your bum with the LP if that is what you wish, but have you ever considered having respect for artists and the way they choose to release their music to you?

Yeah yeah its how he wants us to listen to it on vinyl, but I feel thats kind of a poncey thing to do. People will rip this and this will be found on blogs and in torrents I can guarantee. I'm sure people respect DMZ and that but if the only way they can get this is on vinyl which is limited to a certain number and may cost a hell of a lot, I am sure people will disregard this and download this illegally. If they released it digitally it would help stem this and it would get it to a wider audience.

Don't get me wrong I love vinyl as a format but I just compare this to black metal bands only releasing things on cassette. Anyway they're called digital mystikz...

once again, its this constant entitlement thing with groups of people on this forum. its just unbelievable. it never used to be like this. its this thing about..."if you don't release things my way, i'm going to do this and this and this...and you can't stop me....rah rah rah....I'll buy the album and then rip it, and the whole world revolves around me and my personal choices....."
whats happened to this forum?
anyway, at least quidz see's my point. its got little to nothing to do with vinyl vs digi. its about how you view music.
may can't come sooner. big up to mala.

Where did I ever say that I didn't respect Mala? If it was any other artist I wouldn't care nearly as much.
I understand Mala's reasons for wanting to to do a vinyl only release, but I also think that they don't work in this day and age. Is it a lack of respect to cut a dubplate of a WAV I bought?
With that said, I would much rather have this come out vinyl only than not at all.
may can't come sooner. big up to mala.
