Straight out of Sytrus, no effects.

From the same principle of the previous. Unfortunately, didn't save the FLP...but all you really need to know is that...plus, I was automating the modulator's pitch with a knob as well as the modulator's volume.

Hmm I like that sound, it kind of reminds of what Skrillex did in this song:

Could you could post a brief rundown of what you did in sytrus to get there? Cause I'm not sure what principle of the previous you're referring to.

It's amazing how he just added one harmonic to the modulator and got awesome talking, lol.

Good effort, i actually liked the rest of that piece more then the bass though, really clean and open sounding drums and sounds. I dont mean i dislike the growl, i just thought the quality of the rest was surprisingly good for a short draw-up.

I have created a very nice growl using Reason's Malstrom before. I think it involved the Throat wave or something, i'll see if i can find it and i'll post a demo :)

Made this using FM8 in Ableton using an instrument rack with 1 macro controller assigned to many things at once
the FM8 settings are a 1+2+3 Saw going into 2 sins and a 2nd formant and the 1+2+3 saw is also feeding back into itself. I macroed the amount to make the vowel sounds.
after that i used a WoW band reject filter, Sausage Fattener, 2 ableton filters, 2 ableton phasers, an ableton overdrive, Decimort(bit crusher) the Fab Filter Delay and EQ. I set a ton of things to the macro control to move together and thats what I came up with.

^^^^^^ its a good growl but needs weight, sounds hi passed. with that macro of yours put on a auto filter with the resonance is up so when the mouth is "closed". it will get low passed and add some resonance bass, hard to explain but thats what i do

How do you guys get your growls to have a such a nice attack/envelope? Do you envelope a filter?

Oh ya I know what you're talking about. I have done that on another similar style Bass before. I get weight from the independent sub running under it in the track. I do like the resonance sweeping you're referring to, I just have a hard time keeping it under control sometimes. Thanks for the feedback! :)

I've been practising the methods SeamlessR uses in his youtube videos for the past few hours but can't seem to get anywhere close to the sounds he's made despite in some cases practically copying move for move what he does in Sytrus and Harmor. Anybody else who's tried theses methods got any tips? My sounds either are way too trebley/noisy or lose all clarity and become really subby.
