Really?

Swear the bass just comes in on the 3?
go by the kicks

edit: i was talking about the intro from the very beginning, the flute melody
Yeah that flute melody (which I always thought was some synth until now) starts on 2, but as the track progresses it slowly shifts to the 1 by the time the drop comes. And then yes, go by the kicks too (even if theyre a little tricky because theyve got a little shuffle or something to them).

Hatcha & Lost - King of the trees.

I don't think I've ever managed to get anywhere near mixing this.

pretty easy to mix tbh, 140 + drums in the intro, doesn't get much better than that.

mixing out of it can be a bit tricky, but nothing impossible

Why? just because its got the extended intro? Thats when you mix like normal, then as soon as the spot where the regular version drops comes in you cut the other tune. Not all tacks are meant to be layered on top of others.

If thats what youre getting at in the first place.

mixing out is a piece of piss

mixing into is a bit different, just gotta do it quickly before that change up after the first 16.

It just confuses the fuck out of me, I'm determined to get it right tonight!

nah it's easy enough to mix, it's just i haven't found a tune that sounds right to mix out of it with, the wobble bass in it is so overpowering.

Purple Love? I've mixed that before

the song i cannot mix and never will is Noah D - Seeerious. If you listen closely the beat is very inconsistent and always throws me off. Songs that are difficult to mix but I've been successful in doing so are 2562 - Dinosaur, Neverland, and Goat Stare.

I guess that's the difficulty I'm having. Even then that beat is quite irregular.

just listen to the hihats and the kicks

you could well get away with only bringing it in the mix once the drums come in anyway

I struggle to mix any tune with an interesting kick drum pattern, struggle with quite a few Mala bits. My problem is the kick usually cuts right through the mix, and makes whatever I'm trying to mix into sound off beat and shitty.

Meh, I play Anti War-Dub like I would any 7" dub record: fade the old one out, fade the new one in... no need to beatmatch, people go nuts fair enough upon hearing that first sinewave. same with Roll With The Punches, really. I'll usually give it a try, but when I already feel like this one's gonna trainwreck, I just queue it up again and play it from the start.

i think i actually find it harder to mix tunes with really straight half step or 4x4 rhythms than shot through tunes like cactus

always clang slither by paleman lol

Yeah best bit of AWD is the intro anyway.
