Alright I know how to global record a new midi track from session into arrangement but still can't tweak the parameters.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
what synth are you using?
if you've recorded a bit of midi (especially with automation) into arrangement, you definetly should be able to tweak the automation. i dont really know how deep into ableton you are so sorry if this is something you already know -- but in arrangement, you'll see the tracks on the right side of hte screen, with a little triangle in front of the track name, click the triangle to drop down the automation section. you should see "synth 1" (or whatever your synth is called) in a little box, as well as a list of the synths tweakable parameters in another little box underneath the first one. just select "lfo sync rate" and you'll see a red line with which you can draw in all your automations.
if that doesn't work click on the track of yr synth, and you'll see a little ableton box pop up on the bottom of the screen, with a little green or yellow circle in an x/y pad. look and see if there's a configure button. sometimes you have to use this configure to tweak parameters.
hope this helps you out...let me if it works or not.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
**edit----oh yeah i forgot, when you open the device box for your synth (the ableton box with the little circle in the smaller black box) to "configure" the parameters you wanna tweak, you will have to click on the little down-facing triangle (in the middle of the three little circles at the top of this device box; it's the triangle right next to the "activate/deactivate device" button.........so click that and you'll unfold the parameters where you'll see the configure button. press configure, and the synth interface will pop up and all you gotta do is just click on whatever it is you wanna tweak (you might have to give it a little move if its a knob or something) and this should add the parameter you want to tweak.
let me know if this helps.
peace

Re: The Ableton Q&A Threadohttp://www.facebook.com/home.php?
right, heres a question for you ableton users.....in the preferences tab, do you usually leave Create Analysis File option on or off? i guess its useful if youre mainly djing but those analysis files add up quickly and can end up bogging down your computer if youre just scrolling thru samples right?

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
i always have it on. True it does take a lot of space after a while.
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Ableton noob here. Say I wanted to use one of the default instruments and add LFO to it for wobble purposes how would I go about doing that?
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I'm new on Ableton, and i'm trying to remix something. (souite 8.1)
So my question is, when i'm dragging a Audio file in Ableton it's detecting the BPM rate automaticly, but now i draged a vocal in and it ain't detected the right tempo, i know the original tempo of it, can i set it manually? or how can i ajust it? When i doo timestretch it sounds cutted.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Click on the file or the track and a box should come up at the bottom. Somewhere there is a BPM box, just set it to te rate of your song. I think this is what you mean.Big MD wrote:I'm new on Ableton, and i'm trying to remix something. (souite 8.1)

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
hey, just a little bit of simple help.
basically i am using the demo of ableton till i can afford to buy and im messing about with wobbles, i love the sound and im drawin the notes in at 1/8ths, this is all no problem. but i want to add in some notes at 1/16ths. i know to turn up the beats in the simpler but when i do that it changes everynote in what iv already written. surely i can put 1/8 and 1/16 notes into the same line.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Hi paris.
Basically, you have to add automation to your track. You do this by taking your bass track into arrangement view, and then then there is a drop down box to the right, in the menu bit, where your synth name should be. Scroll down to LFO rate and a red line should come up across your track. Click on the draw icon which is the pen, and then drag the line accordingly using the pen. Hope this helps

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I would start with the operator, it has a LFO section.jaydot wrote:Ableton noob here. Say I wanted to use one of the default instruments and add LFO to it for wobble purposes how would I go about doing that?
Really i would search youtube for ableton tutorial on how to use the operator.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
you couldnt change it because in live 8 the bpm is dependant on the warp segmentsBig MD wrote:jaydot wrote:Click on the file or the track and a box should come up at the bottom. click the start of the track, and go "set 1.1.1 here" and "warp straight from here". click on the actual warp marker...THEN change the bpm.
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
thank you. this is it what i was searching for.
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Is there anyway of exporting every audio track at the same time instead of soloing each one then bouncing them down individually?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Yes. It's an option (I think in a pulldown menu) in the export settings.DZA wrote:Is there anyway of exporting every audio track at the same time instead of soloing each one then bouncing them down individually?
