My roommates are obsessed with Duck Dynasty. It's about a family owned business where they make little things that make duck-calls for hunting, but out of nowhere their business blew up and they became millionaires and got a reality show. The backstory may or may not be true i dunno.
But of course they're super redneck and from Mississippi or somewhere and hate yuppies and gays, etc etc.
So the old guy from the show in an interview the other day said gay sex is basically the same as having sex with a dog or something about bestiality. and a bunch of other shit.
And now A&E (the channel that airs the program) has suspended him from the show. And a lot of people are freaking out saying he should be able to say whatever he wants, "freedom of speech" blah blah blah.
But the fact is he is allowed to say whatever he wants. He has the freedom to say whatever he wants. And if he was a regular ol redneck, it wouldn't matter. But he's not just any redneck. He's a redneck with a reality show that is broadcasted on A&E. And the people who run A&E (who have always been very pro-gay rights) decided they don't want him on the air anymore cause it will hurt their profits (considering a large portion of their audience is gay).

Well he didn't say it during the show on tv lol he said it in a magazine interview but I see your point.
