Yup, nice find. That is a really simple patch surprisingly.

Some nice stuff in this thread here.
I don't really mess with growls too much but I watched Virtual Riots last stream and he talked about how he made some with Serum, so I decided to take what I learned and make a tutorial.

If you change wavetables around and tweak the way the LFOs work with the filters and all that you can make some dope stuff with this method.
Enjoy!

Ssssssup growl forum. I got a couple of growls in my track (start at 1:55 to hear them quick) and I am willing to do some tutorials if anyone is interested. The first growl is a Serum growl and the lower beastly one is my Teminite-style growl out of FM8.

The Serum patch is pretty cool because I took everything that I learned from this thread and applied it to the Serum FX to get most of the growl formed within the patch. Everything is controlled with a single LFO so you can do quite a bit to change the sound and get your own out of it. Let me know, I would be happy to make a vid.

Keep in mind my growl track is in a group that has some gentle processing and the entire project is mastered so it will sound fuller than just doing this from scratch. :u: Enjoy!

So the main growl isn't good on its own (as most sounds), and relies on lots of effects. What I've managed to figure out is how make make any preset sound both better and more fat. The key is OTT, combined with multiband compression + phaser + vocoder. The result is very satisfying. The base of the growl is made in serum, but it just sounds like a normal wobble without the effects.

I do like that growl, it is on par with a lot of the styles you hear out there. I am curious what the patch sounds like without the phaser and vocoder. Are you willing to post about the patch itself?

Check out what I made, this growl is based off a preset that I was sent, it didn't really work that well for me, so I changed it and it became this...

Damn, could have downloaded this when it was free.. Not worth buying for me tho, Vocal Tranformer -stock plugin in Logic does all the same stuff except for the additional drive knob.
