Yet you see all this hype from them on social media, all capitals and shit, going i-nuts about tunes, putting effort into promoting stuff. It doesnt make sense, why bother?

most other chicks were on a psychology hype or whatever else was posh at that time imo
It's a field of mostly wayward analytical pseudo science.
'It is amazing what is going on in peoples heads but the way we percieve what behaviour is, which is most psychology, hasn't changed since Pavlov in my experience. So measure the drool on a dog if you want, but don't expect anything lofty. If you want crazy chicks it's a good shout.

Go back a couple of pages for my experience so far
Biology interests me a lot more than psychology at the moment to be honest but my biggest issue is with the way university education is compared to the engaging experience I get from just reading books in the field (see my earlier post).

chemistry is harder than psych, period.

if the use of stat in psych is gonna turn you off from it, then you might as well abandon every other social science while your at it. psych, sociology, econ, criminal justice, anthro, poli sci all use more or less the same amount of stat.

crim might use less than econ for example, but you'll still have to learn the same amount of stat, ie take the same "stat course for social science ppl", at least in most american universities. not sure if its the same in eu

My theory is that some of those blogs have just become an excercise in verbal masturbation - it seems to like some of the "reviews" are just a bunch of really pretty words strung together that make absolutely no sense - or a best could describe literally 90% of the tunes they try to push.

Example (just picked a random paragraph from one blog):

The title track ‘[Track name]’ from [Producer] launches from the edge with warm, permeating synth work. A natural mysticism comes into play from the soft chords and birdcalls worked into the atmosphere. Crisp percussion and deep bass kicks mould into the rhythm of the track. All of the elements build fluently with progression before a deep, jazzy vocal signifying the title of the track. All in all ‘[Track name]’ works in many situations.

I challenge anyone to tell me the name of that tune without resorting to google.

describing music with words is pretty counter productive imo

It doesn't have to be though, if I was to explain dubstep (or anything else) to someone who'd never heard it before, it would be useful to describe the elements of the music.

But having a blog that only deals with one very specific type of sound and literally just describing the tracks in the broadest possible terms, it just seems.. lazy - or pointless, really - to me.

I can't be sure but if I had to guess I would probably say Biodigital Jazz by Prism & Valor.
