Sorry to say that as a 'Christian' Country those who are not from a minority are penalised for their belief and respect to a causes that supports those who fight to keep this country from being a dictatorial regime! If you are going to insist on no crucifixes, no poppy badges, then you have to insist on no other representation of 'ethnic' or 'religious' belief also. Such as turbans, Sherwani or dreadlocks (if you allow them). You should be supporting ANY attempt to show solidarity in the UK not penalising those who display integrity in upholding their belief in supporting it. UK has always been a tolerant and welcoming country that accepts all. To bend to a 'possibility' of being offended by a minor group/person is disgusting! I hope that the rumour of a Nationwide boycott of Morrisons stores actually happens now. I also hope that Help the Heroes and the Poppy Appeal get involved to support you dropping all disciplinary actions against the person!

We understand that it’s important to many people to show support for our armed forces. Morrisons is a long time supporter of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and we welcome Help for Heroes fundraisers into stores.

As a company we encourage store colleagues to show their support for the Royal British Legion by wearing poppies in October and November.

We currently ask that colleagues adhere to a company dress code which precludes bracelets and pins. However, we have reviewed these guidelines and colleagues working in non-fresh food preparation areas will now be permitted to wear a registered charity wristband.

To everyone complaining about suspending a member of staff for not carrying out a reasonable order, get a grip. This has been twisted to the employees way of thinking to suit their purpose. As a serving soldier i appreciate what the poppy represents. But this is not about a poppy. This is about a disobedient employee. Where would the army be that the pin represents if we decided which orders we follow and which we dis regard? As they say 'orders is orderrrs!'

Now think: if u were a boss and you told one of your staff to do something, and they refused, you would most likely sack them. At least morrisons is giving the person in question a chance to amend their bad attitude.

I have fundraised at morrisons store in support for H4H and they were very friendly an supportive. They have accepted a further request from myself to fundraise at their store again for H4H.

Thank you morrisons. Keep up the good work. Remember no publicity is bad publicity.

At worst the disobedient employee may get a bit of compo an 5 minutes of fame. At best they will get naff all and learn a bit of respect and humility.
