Gah i typed out a load last night and seem to have lost it all.

Anyway, heres where im up to, nearly there now. It is usable just a bit of a mess. Ive actually rewired a bit more since the photos, to try to reduce the hum (hardware  ) and also patched in another effects unit on the akai and a compressor on the blofeld. The blofeld really does sing with a bit of analogue to round off the edges.

So you can hear whats going on a bit, heres the first jam we recorded in our new method of 24 tracks via the desk to the recorder, then dub those 24 tracks back via the desk, dubbing the fx etc. Unfortunately i tried recording it down to the laptop, which sounded SHITE. :( . I knew it would be bad, but not THAT bad :| So youll have to take my word for it that it sounds pretty damn heavy through the desk.

http://www.paradigmx.com/audio/lahj/lahj-furstjuan.mp3

Also its only a quick jam not a finished tune, once we get our heads round it a bit more it will be f'in fantastic.

Desk, FX and 909 (and 606)

Sometimes. Like I said in your reverb thread, it sounds nice to blend in the tape bounce. I just got some VHS tapes to try as well.

I kind of forgot to do it with the tune in my sig, but this one has cassette tape bits. I used the "Automatic Level Control (ALC)" on the machine which brickwalled it. I think I usually won't in the future.

Do you use your iPad in your productions? I have many music apps but generally I just sit there making noises and never incorporate them into tunes.

If i had an ipad, i'd use it solely for touch osc. That thing is awesome but a little small on my iphone.

I actually use my ipad a lot. I've been working on a track that uses a lot of the animoog synth. And since I don't have a real keyboard Ill use pianist pro to send midi to my daw.

I can also use it as a screen extension. So I'll put all my faders and a spectrum meter on it to clear up space on my screen. It's kinda nice actually being able to touch the faders and knobs from my daw on the ipad.

My wife has one also, so If I feel like really geeking out i can be running 2 iPads. Every app I have on mine I put on hers as well.

I also have an old iPhone that I sometimes use as a trackpad.

Touch OSC is pretty legit, but ive been using the demo version of MIDI control. Ive actually been thinking about getting Lemur but im just not sure how often i would actually use it. Right now im just using the MIDI control to work Tracktor and thats about it.
