@Wirez - Great tune mate, being honest I wouldn't mind a tad more verb on the drums, but yeah arrangement, instruments and processing all great, big up!
@Trip Addict - for a tune that's more 4x4'y I was surprised to hear so little kick, it seems to get lost in there. I'd bring up the volume or sidechain the compression of some stuff to it to really get it moving, nice track though
@BananaBomber, as said before sounds a little empty but tbh I reckon with a good enough mixdown it will probably be finished. As said before as well nice sub.
@ Craggle - "Mutually Assured Distraction" I like the way your switching up your percussion, still sounds very programmed, maybe work on gettin a more natural drum sound? (bit of verb on the hat's, compression etc)
edit: With my track I just really wanted to use this chiptune sound, don't feel the need to hold back on harsh crit, peace

ez dude nice track the only thing i'd do is add some more drum patterns n breaks a little more variation ... the sub and lead go nice together
will post an updated version of pump up the jam soon

Hey man! Thanks a lot, really appreciate such positive feedback Regarding the reverb, I must admit I am quite reluctant to using much reverb on my drums because I use a fair bit of reverb on my other elements, so get conscious about muddying everything up and losing the drums transients in the mix... But this will be something I'll listen out for a bit more in the future, so thanks for that feedback!
Have left you a soundcloud comment on your track and will be following from now on

Mate if you're using reverb as a send then just highpass at about 300hz(ish?) stops everything getting really muddy (like you said) but I always like to add little tiny bits from everything ( even like the kick drum)
@Craggle for a first try at dubstep you're miles ahead of me when I start lol.
yeah I can give you tips on drums (seems to be one of the few things I can do), are you using a sampler or just putting in audio? regardless here are a few things I'd think about doing.
- Unquantize beats, have them a little faster/slower than the grid.
- sidechain the kick/snare to the percussion so when they hit the hats duck out.
- Little bits of reverb (using a send)
- Buss the drums and process them there (compression /eq)
- Distortion is your friend try it out and see what it sounds like on things like hats/ snare

@ bananbomber
intro is effing sick, proper dark and sets the mood well. i would of preffered a little build up to the drop, maybe a reverse crash or something, to really slap you in the face when it drops. i like the progression of it all, i think you could of maybe added a little drum switch up somewhere but im sure it would do fine without. overall sick song, well done
@ whyrez
love the drums and those little pitched snares, forget what theyre called but anyway. i think the vocals are a bit too loud, and the drums everything sounds a bit too close together, maybe you should of brung the vocal sample and the synth in a different times. after that it sounds good, drums are a great idea, especially the choping that comes in at about 2.25. love the background synth that comes in at the second drop, really settles in well with the other sounds. rest of the track is tight, good work
@lowpass
the chip sounds are dope, goess well with all the percussion and the background synth on the intro is big! the drums themselves i think need bringing up more, they just seems overshadowed by the main chip sounds. theres also some kind of distortion on one of the hats i think really doesnt need to be there. the sub sounds sick though, as does everything else i didnt mention. tracks got potential, big up

Code Zero wrote:Hi made a chill track for a change.I kept it as minimal as i could to lay the main focus on the vocal. Honestly i was just in the mood for something like this, stumbled upon the vocal and started making beats underneath it . Vocals in the begin don't quite fit, but it didn't really bother me .
Listen & comment plz
btw i like this monthly thing way better! Soundcloud
Just as you told before, vocal doesn't fit so good on beginning of tune, but as it goes further it's much better.
As I've commented on SoundCloud - Good Chill tune.
I like your's wobble Sick sounds by the way Sometimes you should fill tune much more, because it sounds little empty.
DubSac wrote:Hey guys, changed a little bit of stuff in this/ some people said they couldnt get the soundcloud link to work, so here it is again. would love some feedback!
WOW WOW WOW ;D
Your sounds have power dude You should focus on beat, because it sounds little glitchy for me. Maybe try with some eq on hi hats and kicks or make some little changes with drum pattern.
Dubstep version of Aviciis new track. enjoy:0 Soundcloud

Yeh man, just to clarify I do generally use a high pass my reverb sends. Maybe 'muddiness' wasn't the best term to describe what I was talking about... I wasn't necessarily talking about lack of clarity and shite in the lower end of the spectrum, just a lack of clarity in general that reverb can sometimes cause when there's a lot of things exploiting it, if you see what I mean. This is definitely something I will be considering in the future though

@bananabomber
You've got a lot of positive feedback for this already, cause it's good, so i'll focus on things i'd like a bit different.
The first midrange wobble has no speed variation, and is a little bit dull as a result. I really think you should try making the last half bar of each 4 three halfspeed triplet wobbles, just to vary it up. I can't really get across what i mean but basically so you count 1234,1234,1234,12WUBWUBWUB, where the first 3.5 bars have the same wubs as at the moment. if you have no idea what i'm talking about either ignore this or pm me and i'll make an audio clip of what i mean.
The other thing i'm not a fan of is between ~1:58 and 2:24 the downbeat of the drums is thrown off by the attack of the bass you've got, i'd change the phase of the lfo so that its at it's maximum when the drum hits, which would let it sound like the kick is starting the wobble off wheras atm it's more like there's someone playing the wobble who's semi retarded and keeps coming in half a second late when he gets reminded by the drummer that he's meant to be playing.
@ The vetox
Loving the drum pattern at the start, really made my head nod, the one that starts at around 4 mins as well is really nice. In fact there's a few parts of this track i really like, but i think you've tried to do a bit too much with it, it changes a bit too often and far too drastically, so even though there's some idea of a theme, in someways it sounds more like a minimix than one track. Normally i listen to songs and think- this is boring, change it somehow! But i think you've gone a little bit too far off the other end, which luckily is a much, much easier thing to change.
@ Lowpass
That track link isn't working any more, might wanna reup.
@ Jaydot
Post the feedback you said you were going to post. Update the soundcloud database instead of posting in it saying you're going to. Stop posting saying you're going to post and then not posting and start just posting.
@ Craggle
Listened to breather, other two don't seem to be working. It's obvious your approach is based in dub, and i think that's a really good thing (i listen to a lot). What i don't like in the track so much is the really obviously "dubsteppy" bits- the midrange wobbles. I really don't think they fit in with your sound. If you want to go down the dubstep route i'd really suggest listening to some kryptic minds and youngsta (both individual and their collabs), and trying to fit your sound into that style of dubstep, where it goes much better.
If you really want to use midrange wobbles, i guess Rusko- Jahova is worth a listen, as it's got a similar feel to breather.
