nah this i disagree with. The more ive heard the more ive gone the other way with it (after hearing footcrab and a couple other tunes i was like shiiiit this stuffs gonna be the bomb! Then just became more disillusioned by it as i heard more). Plus the use of "acquired taste" stinks of musical elitism.

i would disagree with that as well, the first time i heard proper juke i was in love
but massive amounts of sub bass do that to me!

the bass in this tune is by no means monotone... it dances around at a crazy pace, weaving between the toms and the kicks

?.....
nah but seriously alot of tunes sound heavy through a proper set up but acquired tastes aside not everyone has to like the same stuff.its normal.
i as a fan of this style think most of planet mu's juke output is poor.
that roc tune above is oddly offkey in a good way, real shifty vibe.
that song was on the internet long before family guy jacked it

they're all round 160bpm right? any stuff thats more round the 140-50 mark?? (makes it more mixable, if you just want to play a couple of tunes and don't want to build up to 160)

some juke is fairly interesting but it literally AMAZES me how people can go so mental over tunes ENTIRELY comprised of the same 10 samples that have been intensely rinsed for the last 25 years.
footcrab was the first juke-y thing i heard, and it still shits all over everything else the genre has produced.

Never was into Footcrab... wouldn't really cal it juke, either. Just influenced by it.
DJ Spinn on the other hand kills it. <.<
Can't wait for Murderbot's on release Planet Mu, though. 'Break U Off' sounds like it can be an instant classic.
