Deapoh wrote:I got a phone call from gee last night. A representative from Rinse, NOT Gee, will be posting in reply so hold tight.

To all the FWD heads I am no longer allowed to go so I will see you lot at DMZ, Corsica, Kontakt and many other Dubstep nights!

The less I talk about the phone call the better but he made it very clear how he felt.

Big up everyone for the support, it means a lot. Please continue to support all the Rinse DJs and Tempa artists etc.
Deapoh, my utmost respect goes out to you and I hope like you hint that Barefiles is going to be bigger and better than ever.

I won't stop buying tempa or other ammunition releases. But to be honest as the rinse stream is soo shitty I only used to listen to rinse over barefiles (unless I was in the fabled 7 block radius in London). I'm gutted that ammunition and Geeneus have decided to make corporate moves like this. And although I appreciate what Envoy has said and I fully accept what Ammunition have done for the scene (short of forging it). I have heard many stories of Geeneus and compadres making it bloody hard for other promoters and alike. But it all goes on behind the scene fronted by smiling faces and stories of love and friendship.

Personally not only do I think it's real disrespectful to someone who has dedicated so much time and effort, but a stupid move in the long term for Rinse. Alienating your ENTIRE international (and outside London) audience so you can make a buck or flex your scene muscles is bizarre and the legalities quoted are fucking bullshit and everyone knows that. But let's face it, it's a pirate that operates below the law and so it ain't inconceivable that physical action would be taken against Deapoh.

I have always tried to stay out of politics, but I think Deapoh has not only spread the sound to soo many virgin ears, but gained me exposure as a result. So in conclusion Geeneus can do one and also:

If they are claiming the dubstepforum mix back - WHERE'S MY FUCKING MONEY? My track is on there which is now released and I hold the publishing rights, so I want my fucking due if it's going down like this.

I don't particularly want to enter into this argument online - as a Mod for this forum I feel I have to keep a certain distance. Personally I think it's a shame this had to be played out in public and does no favours to the scene overall.

But I would like to say this - there's a lot of people baying for blood in this thread, and I get the feeling that there will be a rather unpleasant kneejerk reaction to the Rinse/Ammunition response regardless of what is said.

So I hope that people will concentrate on the facts/reality of the situation and not go off on one - there's already a few silly things been said and emotions are clearly running high.

How else could you see this being played out? Deapoh just saying 'yup okay' and packing up shop with no one knowing any better?

I fear this also, the short tempered and younger amongst us should temper their words.

Fact is Deapoh got screwed and in result people are getting pissed off, because Deapoh has done something for all of us, especially Rinse.

this is disgraceful. i can understand ammunition wanting to switch things up, but the way they've acted is pretty abhorrent. deapoh deserves a great deal more respect than that. im extremely disappointed to see ppl i previously had such respect for acting like this

and really, do we want a single entity (with a big vested interest) to control the biggest point of access for dubstep? not me

Couldnt say it any better myself. He has sat on this for months, and if I were him I would have said something the day i got that phonecall. Did he really have any other option than to do it via the forum?

I totally understand that its upsetting to see and it unsettles the sene, but what kinda scene do we have if total disrespect goes unnoticed. Im sure Deapoh is the most cut up about all of this, and now he's inbetween a rock and a hardplace. He never thought for one second he would get this kinda reaction. I say BIG UP!
Nuff respet and love D.
