honestly I dont like that kind of "metal" dance...was a madness every coki-tune-drop and during the whole Skream set...but, was an amazing experience and what I can say is: if you liked Goth-Trad set you definitely like dubstep.
kode9, loefah, dmz, skream and vivek were fantastic too from what I have heard, loefah in particular, literally skankin all the time but Goth-Trad...he was a lot!!!!

shame i missed loefah's set tho (only heard last 2 tunes)

is that who was singin/mcing over Kode9's set? I cant imagine the set would have been as good as it was without him, not to take anythin away from Kode9 his selection and mixing was spot on, but the spaceape added somethin speicial to the set

Wish I knew this as I wanted to leave when Skream was playing haha.

Big night was Friday!! Everyone was sick minus Skream. Won't go on too much but just wasn't my thing, the Rage Against the Machine bollocks pissed me off, just put on Goth-Trad and stop hogging the stage. Track selection was poor. Everyone else proper killed it, favourites were without a doubt Goth-Trad (Anti-War Dub, Itinerant Priest and Airbreaker :r: :r:) and of course, DMZ. But very surprised I loved James Blake set and so did my girlfriend, saw him a few months back but this time he killed it!

One problem I did have was how ignorant a lot of the people were that night, more so than at British parties. And the people moshing when Girl Unit - Wut was dropped, I mean, what in gods name!? And another, who the fuck ever uses me to get on their stupid boyfriends shoulders again, shall actually die. Bouncers at Melkweg were arseholes and the smoking area was disgusting but...

...still, amazing night! Big up and happy birthday DMZ!

Mixed feelings about the 'ignorant' crowd. Fucking hated the moshing, like, really. And I felt lonely when I was one of very few people going nuts when 'Fatman V.I.P.' came on <.<, but I could tell that for a lot of people, this was the first time they heard dubstep or attended a dubstep night (a Dutch subculture thing) and I was actually pretty happy to see people openminded enough to check something they likely hadn't heard before.

Saw lots of middle aged people talking about how they were just going out, curious what was playing at the Paradiso the night when I went to see Broken Social Scene and Tortoise and the same thing seemed to be happening here.

Crowds in Amsterdam are pretty openminded.

I agree, but the last events it's 50% "first time dubstep" crowd
so I was hoping it was a bit over
but it seems to get worser & worser

years back you can push someone on the ground & say "I'm so sorry" & it was like "no no it's oke i'm cool"
& no when you jump into someone by accident it's like "fuck off & watch out tnuc"

the happy/peace/love is just not really there anymore
thats the only thing i miss
& I have "spoken" 12 bitches & 2 nice girls
to many ho's there

Good view on the bumping crowd at 0:40 hehe. This is filmed from the balkony at the end of the room. There're like 1500 ppl in this movie ^^

Jheeeeez it went off. Too busy?
Room 1 a mess towards the end. Totally agree the moshing was not needed at all, was hoping to chill after a hard days blazing.
Sound system was sick though.
All in all a good night. Was hoping for some new freshness from the mystikz, but still a good show. Loefah killed it though seriously.
Respectssss to all the head that travelled from england.
Typically, the percussion will pause, often reducing the track to silence, and then resume with more intensity, accompanied by a dominant subbass

Friday was a massacre. Loefah, James Blake & V.I.V.E.K. dropped huge sets, Digital Mystikz were also spot on. Pure madness. Loefah was just all about acidhouse/garage/Boddika. Sunday Pearson Sound did it for me, the night as a whole was not as good as the Friday though !

I was right at the back bar for Fatman VIP. Was plenty of room to skank out as everyone seemed to be pushing to the front and it was still loud as!

I just found everyone just barged past and were too busy talking to their friends and getting in the way of the people who were there for the music, not just be social.

always different
2008: Dub Police takeover Caspa & Rusko, Hatcha, etc
2009 : Sub:stance VS Sonic Warfare etc
2010: Oi! / Magnetic Man etc

or I switch up 2008 & 2009
I can't remember, went to both

but it's always big

I'm always there for the music
I always end up in the front, alone, just dancing, listening with my eyes closed (because my friends rather stay in the back)
& I don't give a damn about what people think of that

too bad there's always a horney guy around, popping outta nowhere who is humping against you, serious gtfu
