I only spent 3 hours on my tune. Can't believe it's still in.

Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
I only voted out of respect for the comp.
I don`t think any of these tracks are better than those that were voted out.
In fact......

On a similarly related note to before one of my dreams last night was about dynamic reduction (with a track going up to -3 db rms) this confirms it I need to give the studio a rest for a bit
who made Charlie?
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!

I concur, the last round was about as fucked as i've seen it.
Maybe the next one you should have to post your votes then at the end of each round they are counted possible?
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
Alpha v golf 21 votes lima v quebec 13 hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm really on point this round.
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
TBF, some rounds in some competitions there were battles I didn't vote on because I didn't particularly like either tune. Nothing says you have to vote on all battles all of the time. As for having to tell people your vote, have a word
I swear, every battle (48hr/SamplePack) we've had recently there has been someone saying that something dodgy is going on because their tune got knocked out earlier than they would've liked, or because certain numbers don't quite add up. Honestly, it doesn't matter at the end of the day. Do we enter this contest to win? Maybe. But that's not the point of why we're doing it - to improve as producers, push ourselves, work outside of our comfort zone in a more constricted environment/timeframe than we would usually.
If some folk want to mess around with things, let them. Again, they're only cheating themselves if their productions are winning by underhand means as opposed to actual merit. If this is really bothering some people enough, then my advice would be to stop offering prizes - reckon the problem would sort itself out is nothing tangible was at stake.

Why you worried we might not like your taste in musicwub wrote: As for having to tell people your vote, have a word
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
Also i'm still in so not bitching because i went out early.
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
Not at all - but once people start being made to tell others what they've voted, there is inevitable justifications why did you vote for so-and-so tune etc etc.lloydy wrote:Why you worried we might not like your taste in musicwub wrote: As for having to tell people your vote, have a word
My comments were just general, wasn't directed at anyone in particular.lloydy wrote:Also i'm still in so not bitching because i went out early.

No one should be expected to justify themselves at all and the people asking for justification will only be ones who are self conscious about their music rite?wub wrote: Not at all - but once people start being made to tell others what they've voted, there is inevitable justifications why did you vote for so-and-so tune etc etc.
Its all good wub i was just saying,at the end of the day this is a comp for all us to improve off and we are a community that should support each others work so playing by the rules for me is just simple etiquette isn't it?I know there is some serious dick swinging goes on in these parts but we are coming together over an ultimate goal so really should all be in it for the cause. My comments were just general, wasn't directed at anyone in particular.
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
I wasn't even in the comp, but juliet and foxtrot were a mile ahead of the other tracks. Golf's beat is pretty great admittedly, going for golf to win
Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
Think it would be constructive to post your votes in the thread (not for security measures). I imagine a lively conversation around which track is "better" and why.
And earjax, I think golf was better than foxtrot, that's why I voted that way. Foxtrot may have had certain attributes that were advanced, but overall was nowhere near miles ahead. That is why we vote, we have differences of opinion.
Also, I have not voted in each pairing, like wub.

Re: May 48 HOUR Comp SEMI FINALS VOTING!!!
I think giving an explanation of why you voted for certain tunes would be cool. Could help the person who made it see what aspects of their track were and weren't popular. Although keeping it form turning into a feedback thread could be a problem there. Maybe the person who made it wouldn't be aloud to chime in or something, just a thought
