question about warping using live 8

so most dubstep is pretty easy to warp, but the problem im having is....the pseudo warp markers are a tiny bit ahead of where the actual transient starts....so is there an easier way to align them accurately without having to go through the whole song and align each one manually before warping?

i think those are "transients".....I think they only affect certain warp modes.

For basic mixing use "repitch"

I usually end up warping by hand, the auto mode doesn't seem to get too accurate sometimes. If auto is on, I will delete all of the warp markers, Line up the first beat with the first warp marker, set 1:1 there, warp 8 or 16 bars, then if it's lined up enough, every 64 bars or certain musical phrases after that. Doesn't take too long if the tempo is steady. Oh, and I usually use complex mode as I like to shift the tempo without the pitch shift sometimes.

Warping disco and funk is another story....

tried that, didn't really help. it's weird cos i haven't had any trouble before (even using just beat mode) with ableton not being able to determine where to accurately put the pseudo warp markers, especially with dubstep....whereas before all i had to do was align the first one, set 1.1.1 here, and then drag the warp markers to where they needed to be....but now i have to go thru and align all the pseudo warp markers before warping, because they're a little less than a bar in front of the actual CLEARLY DEFINED transients haha which is a major pain in the nan

The pseudo warp markers do absolutely nothing unless they are warp markers and are yellow. Then make sure the downbeat is aligned right where the marker starts. Those transient markers are only there if you want to do more complex warping.

Which is why I always warp by hand. I don't really trust it unless I do it myself, but maybe that's just me.

i know the pseudo warp markers dont actually do anything, but when ableton does place them correctly its so much easier to just click one and drag it to where it needs to be. haha having to scroll in and place a marker manually is a bit of piss when you're warping almost every other bar. wish i could just figure out why the hell the pseudo markers used to line up but now dont. i haven't changed any of the settings and even tested it on a song with very clearly defined beats and they're still off :?

Double click the audio you want to reverse and the sample editor should appear at the bottom of the page. There beside the title near the warp button is a little reverse button. Click it

ok so say you load a project or template with missing audio files, but you dont really need them and can't find them on yr harddrive anywhere....how do you get the orange error message on the bottom of the screen to go away?

sorry if this is a painfully obvious answer.... :?

I think you just doble click it or delete the missing sounds in the arrangement. Something of the sort! :)

Double click it and it should bring up a new window to the right with details of any sounds it can't find... you should be able to use that to find them in the project and delete them.

yeah, ive tried double clicking and searching within the "missing media files" tab that pops up, but i still can't find the damn audio file thats missing. downloaded tom cosms dj megaset and deleted the included audio tracks so i could save it as a blank template, so deleting the file apparently isn't working either :?

Anyone know how to scroll through and preview audio effects? For instance, on an audio track with vocal, I want to go through reverb preset list to see how they sound without clicking and dragging each one onto the reverb effect in the audio track. In reason I could use keyboard arrow keys to do this easy and quick. Also have same problem with VST's like Massive. I can't scroll through presets quick with keyboard or midi knob, as I have to use mouse to click each preaet to hear it.....that is unless I open the vst as stand alone program, then I'm able to scroll......

I think your stuck with the reverb way for now. But with a vst click on the grey box that opens when you load the vst. Then click the preset title and click away from it, it should remain selected now just click up and down with the arrow keys.

right guys, ive got this stupid problem...

when i start to transfer from the clip view to the sequencer view, sometimes live greys out tracks in the sequencer view, and stops playing any sound from them. im not really sure what causes this, but the only way i can work out to get it back to normal is to save then reload the project. what am i missing?

this is bound to be something really stupid so im sorry in advance

thanks!

Is there a pre click botton, so when youre trying to record something it does a few clicks then starts recording

if that makes sence :o
