No its just a cheap Alesis DM5 kit. I found some old cybals and hats, i then took the triggers off the old ones and placed them on the cymbals and hats, i did the same for the snare, (i took the spring of the snare and added the trigger).

The triggers (the triggers are placed underneath the cymbals) dont dampen the sound but those black plastic triangle material (taken form the oringinal plastic cymbals) on top of the cymbals dampen the sound. Also for the snare drum, i filled the inside with foam to the brim so when you hit the snare its really damp and has hardly any attack on it to reduce the noise.

But did pick up a grotty old analogue echo for £33.

Ive spent the last two weeks stripping the studio, painting, decorating and putting up shelves. Cleaned up the mixer, and did a mod to allow all fx sends to be post fader. now the monster wiring job must begin. Photos soon.....

Im soo buzzing off it tho.

Now to decide between an MS10, a minibrute or a couple of nice effects units with my remaining UAD loot.

Why not mic trigger your entire set? I hardly believe your kit still sounds good with those things on them.

Updated studio. Got some new equipment and ikea pieces. Just got the apc40 through the post yesterday, was the missing link in my set up, am surprised at how handy it is and how much it effects workflow. Bit messy as we had some peeps over last night but you get the idea

Why would you get a dark energy if you don't have an actual modular to mix it in with? It's only one VCO...

Cheers mate. It's a great synth, fun to use and sounds great you can get some really mad sounds out of it or some delicate ones too. The only thing that's annoyed me is the glide feature is optional which is a feature I mainly got it for, long story short I got sent a faulty glide option and the shops taking it's time, i'm impatient so put an ad up for it and will sell and pick up something with glide built in; probably a vermona lancet. If that had worked I'd keep it, my gear lust is to much to be waiting around on postage. Can always get another one, or the DE 2, preferably both!
