i think that ghost 202 remix is pretty mehhh... the velez remixes are sick but otherwise the livity remixes have been pretty underwhelming, IMO. sad because i'm in love with the rest of their catalogue

he was talking about the hessle catalogue not their DJing. i agree that DJs mixing this style of music should get searching a bit more, rather than it all being about the latest dubz

it is, it's an instrumental grime night. most of the stuff they do is around the tempo of grime and in the full spirit of it...

ye that seems to be the consensus with that and the MMM remix, i think it's just not to my personal tastes in techno

then why don´t you want that some key sound releases get labeled as "grime" i know that they have other influences but is not such a big deal, isn´t it?

i think it's pretty hard to say that something like illusions EP or old school methods EP could be labelled as grime, as well as all the stuff like facta and caski which gets played out on the keysound show

I'm wary about elongating this tired ass argument but the way I see it this sound is basically half synthy space-grime like Logos and half dark funky roller shit, like Beneath. Wen is somewhere in between, but lately his tunes are more like the latter.
Anyway, that's why I reckon "grime" isn't exactly a good word for it.
ah nice!
Dark0 EP in lost codes deserves a special mention too! bare bangers and filter dread remix innit Soundcloudp

i dont mind if people dont have a name for what we're doing yet, that's just fine, but it's hardly grime in the purist sense, as much as i love grime.
Grime has always had a weird side tho look at ice rink lol
And what u can't have grime that's inspired by "garage dubstep jungle classical etc."? How does having influences make stuff not grime
I don't need to tell you about the early plasticman grimey dubsteppy stuff. Wens using similar influences
And lol u can have a garage track in a grime album didn't realise ppl were calling that' track grime
U wouldn't necessarily hear it in a Logan set but sorry lol most of what I've heard from wen I'd call grime or dubstep. Quite a few logos tracks too
tbh tho it doesn't rly matter but i don't rly get why ppl r so eager to deny that it's this or that genre or try hard to distance music from that
