sup dudes.

im working on this track now. not to sure how to end it. and i dont really know where to fit bass in. my latency on this midi out to usb is ridonkeylips, so bass line isnt lined. but you can hear the chord progression im going for.

ez!

Soundcloud

idk dude. i know the bass line isnt quite lined up in the end, and im still working on structure for the second drop. but i think the bassline doesnt sound bad with those bass hits, then when they drop out to have the bassline continue with the beat. it gets my head knodding. can i have some other opinions!

Plus

- Crackin bass drum, really carries the song nicely!
- Phasey psycho "twisty echo" noise really works as an almost alternative to hi hats - I like that
- Synth is great, builds nicely at parts and creates tension without over powering
- The "vowel" parts I love, wish I knew how to do these myself. (the E-Ai-E-Ai)

I can imagine a pretty fuckin great tune when this is done! I'm gonna create a myself for my stuff today and I will throw you an add soon :-]

Advice

- The only advice I can give you really is that certain parts could be lowered and some maybe brought forward slightly. I guess thats more personal preference though.

Stay well man!

:)

EDIT: http://www.myspace.com/badhairdubstep - this is my myspace address, give me an add people :-]
:o :o
haha so now i know what it feels like to log on and see a nice review of a personal track on there...! took my breath away, was a great feeling... i hope that my reviews do the same for you guys..

anyway, thank you so much for the review and the add on myspace, ill move you to my tops when i log back on...

**EDIT: oh, and that 'ee-ya-ee-ya' sound is created by running a square/saw/equally punchy wave through a Formant filter... gives it a great vowel sound... i also do some routing and wiring to oscillate the x/y channels in the Formant as well as the filter freq... hope this helps**

make sure you read the comments i left on your page, pretty crucial stuff..

much love/respect :w:
Hey no problems my man, Thanks for the advice on the formant filter.. Never really tried it on any other synths other than the wobbly bass stuff. :-]

Also nice one for the comments on myspace, I'll get around to editting that stuff later on - again you're a gent.

stay up!

finished up that track... now, what confuses me is, that on my monitors and the club rig the sub sounds really great , heavy and gives pressure to the chest.
but on almost any other system it has no pressure and the rythm of the sub can't be heard (it should actually accentuate the main beat)

would love to hear some feedback! (and yes, will give back ;))

big up and thank you

1st attempt at a dubstep beat for me, quite new to the genre so any tips will be much appreciated. Soundcloud seems to have distorted certain sections most noticeably the strings and the 1st kick drum.

Great forum btw shall be posting here more often :D

big up man, thank you for that one... :)

like the clearness of your beat. nice clap/snare by the way. good variations on the beat. teh bassline in the background is well done! all in all it rolls nicely. lot of energy. would do good in a set, just right after my tune haha... ;)
love the part just right after the drop at 2:35! you really are following the 'less is more' rule!

WOOOOO just arrived at 3:02 BIG one with the claps! good timing at 3:44 bringing in the that distorted cello (or whatever that is :D)

maybe, and i am really talking about my personal opinion, it could have a bit more of background... a wind whispering or something. specially in the breaks at 2:20, 3:30 and in the end... but maybe it's also absolutely unnecessery...

also... at 3:02 where you drop that great snare/clap break you could maybe push it a bit longer... this makes the massive go crazy...!
it's a question of how you wanna have your track... deep and mellow. or deep, mellow and on some spot a bit jumpy ;)

def big one!

would be happy bout more feedbacks concerning my track ;)

mmk, working on making the "Knell Feedback Thread"...

even tho the replies i got to my enquiry as to whether or not i should make it were frightfully shoddy...

got all of two replies, hah, so i might not even do it, seems all you want out of me are reviews

anyway, got plenty of reviews to post to the thread if i make it, all of those who sent me PMs and most of the ones posted here today...

just need to know, and if i get less than five replies to this post i'll scrap the whole idea...

but should i create it here in the production forum, or in the *cringe* dubs section?

id prefer the production section, for obvious reasons, but feel like the mods will flame me if i post it here

let me know... or dont, whatever

for my taste too many toasting samples... the whole song is just not really my kinda style. makes it hard to judge! somehow you are trying to get a lot of energy innit, but still it somehow lacks the needed energy.

the beginning is really tuff... dunno if this is good or not, i wouldn't start like that. humm maybe some hihats giving it a bit of a drive? maybe do a break or two..!
i like the percussive hits here and there, gives it a nice variation.

hummm.... maybe someone else should feedback it?!

Oooohhh great

Seeing as you give the best rounded reviews of tunes anyone that says you shouldn't is a turd

least you take your time to really listen and get into the tune most people just write a few words or rape it if its up for download (not saying people shouldnt download if its up at 320, but cmon if you do atleast leave a comment or summat)

My residue tune got gang raped 96 plays 15 downloads in 24 hours but yet 3 comments and your review which once again thanks for that

EVERYONE SUPPORT THE KNELL REVIEW THREAD

stupid idea. it will not change a thing.

you think that people will feedback in a differently called thread more than here? don't think so.

@geeza: instead of writing just bollocks and screaming for more feedbacks, maybe you could first write a feedback. i'm not talking about my track, i'm not that hot on your feedback, but that's how it all works in here.. feedback, and you'll get one back! sometimes you don't.
then probably the track just isn't interesting enough to feedback.

bla.
anyway. let's get back to the usual thing. stop spamming

well then. that solves that. good call mate, you definitely know what the hell i was talking about and are not making a ignorant rash rook comment. obviously this "vulva" character knows best. thanks for giving this thread its well needed dose of trolling, you've inspired me enough to stop writing reviews, for a good long while at least..

cheers folks, i'll leave you to guys to your own accord then. no more knell reviews, no more " :G:", send PM to vulva thanking him for this and asking for his feedback..

im sure you'll prefer vulva's awesome super fantastic feedback anyway, with such gems as "humm maybe some hihats giving it a bit of a drive? maybe do a break or two..!" and the super helpful "hummm.... maybe someone else should feedback it?!"

should be grand, this swiss twat with such a classy name has obviously done his homework here recently.... i could use all the time i "waste" writing reviews in the studio working on mastering anyway

peace.

one more review:

VulvaVibration - "Entire Soundcloud Collection"

props:
+at least you're trying

advice:
-keep trying

overall:
=boring, unoriginal grimey garbage
