Fuck all as Bitwig failed to get their product out before Ableton 9, which resolved most of the issues with Ableton that Bitwig was allegedly created to solve.

So basically what they've done is dropped a product that fixes a load of problems that Ableton has already addressed. And as Bitwig is a new product with a new product price tag vs. an upggrade price tag for users already on Ableton, their only real market place would be with new users who don't yet use either.

And why would a new user opt for Bitwig over the already established and supported (both via the company and the wider community) Ableton?

I got a trial version of Ableton Live and fuckin had no clue what was up. The effects don't apply to the tracks, but to the individual samples? Wot. Fuck that shit lol.

The internet really makes it clear how everything is connected. I was watching a documentary where someone referred to something in WW2 as "götterdämmerung" (as in the Wagner opera) and I thought hey, the epic battle theme of The Matrix Revolutions is called Neodämmerung, I wonder if that's a reference, then I found out the lyrics to that track are from the Upanishads, then I realised hey, The Bhagavad Gita is another Hindu text, then I remembered Oppenheimer referenced that text upon finishing the atom bomb ---> Back to the WW2 documentary.

Or maybe another way to phrase that is "the internet really facilitates my OCD-ish, six-degrees type of thinking that can sometimes consume hours of my life"

i used to watch his stuff when i was just learning reason, but this was back when he actually made tutorials and not metal brostep raps

um lol ableton is like the no 1 daw when compared the amount of tutorials available on ytube just saying

i fucked about with garageband on a m8s mac a while ago and it was so unintuitive may be because i had never used a mac before but to do anything felt like you had down syndrome. still made a banger tho of course

Yeah it's just the default synths that are shit IMO. Plus it runs like crap but maybe that's just my lappy

well yeah its probably also possible to make a decent song in dubturbo but that doesn't make it any less shite

it has tons of limitations, i personally found the built in synths good, got some seriously interesting coki-like sounds out of them

i found it great to lay down a track, speaking of arrangement and ideas, when i listen to my old stuff it's criminally badly produced, but the ideas are a lot better than most i can make now, even though i have like thousand times more possibilities (which keep distracting me from effective songwriting)
