ugh the problem is ppl just wanna hear music they know. and i have no interest in that music. but i really wanna get more into dj'ing. i feel like i gotta go thru the house party phase though, can't jump straight to the bars/clubs that wanna hear #bass. and i could easily get a lot of gigs at house parties if i wasn't too stubborn b2b too lazy/disgusted to download pop and actually get to know that music and put in cues and all that shit. I know some places that have good nights but i feel like you gotta have some kind of a reputation in order to do that.
