the first dungeon and black box realeases were very good, although that this is an unpopular opinion atm is funny that when you look at old mixes in soundcloud of this people that blame dungeo, all of them had dungeon mixes

I like quite a bit of dungeon, I also like quite a bit of neuro, don't really care if the general consensus is that it's stale, I find those sounds appealing

i guess but at the end of the day its just dubstep with more mid range and reverb than the old stuff, dont feel like it warrants a new term. seems like a lot of ppl just throw it around as a derogatory term for tunes theyre not feelin anywaysgarethom wrote:Because people know what it is. I've never understood the rally against genre names myself. They serve a quite useful purpose and the whole 'stagnating creativity' thing is beyond me tbh.

Yeah, it's defo being misused (Tunes I like = Not Dungeon. Tunes I don't like = Dungeon), but if I said "What sort of music does Artist XYZ make?" and you said "Dungeon", I'd have a good idea of what you meant. And it's not really an entire new genre, more just a sub-genre of dubstep.
