I've met and chatted with the lead singer (s) of Opeth, Eagles of Death Metal, Broken Social Scene, Dinosaur Jr. (J Mascis), members of the New Pornographers, and the bass player of Green Day. I've had my picture taken and interviewed for my local paper, been on the radio and been on the news. Not much but it's a little rush of excitement. All from working in a record store.

I saw him at a small gig, probably 150 people were there. He played one hell of a good show, pretty loud crowd. The show finishes, and after a couple of minutes, he just awkwardly walks out from the backstage and out the front door, nobody even tried to say a word to him, he just walked out and left. Pretty spaced out dude. Seems like a cool bloke though.

I used to listen to Opeth in highschool (like 6 years ago) but lost interest. Dunno him and one other band member (Per I think?) were shopping, Mikael bought a Bob Dylan record, some folk record and a Jeff Martin cd (lead singer of the band the Tea Party). I was all 'who da fuck is this crazy viking guy' until I read the name on his credit card and realized who he was. He was really friendly and probably spent about an hour in the store. Really friendly.

Definitely spaced out. My shop doubles as bong store and there was a can of butane in the display case and he was all 'what's that?' and I said 'Butane' "Oh..." staring at it in wonder for about 30 seconds. Then he bought a copy of Grateful Dead's American Beauty. Weird as hell.

played a gig with Aidan Baker/Nadja. i gave him a lift to the gig in my car. he was wedged in the back seat between the door and a large bass amp. i could see his drone drawf beard and face in my rear view mirror. he's a nice little chap. funny too.

Uncle went too school and subsequently I've met Derren Brown
Charlotte Kerwood (Commonwealth games, shooting gold medalist) cooked me a bacon sandwich
Met Chris Copsy (Radio DJ, now dead) several times and he was friends with my dad

Skyped Jason Segel (It was definitely him)
And spoken to Gareth and teh singer (Rob?) from Pendulum on Facebook (It was definitely them, trust me) ^.^
Zedd told me on Twitter that he would marry me and then we had a conversation about boobs

i used to take kevin smith's grocery orders during my shitjobs period in LA (we even fucked up his order during a hectic time, and he wasn't bothered to much by it, nice man) he'd even come in person to the shop..although he didn't realize that i was the lovely lady taking his orders over the phone. still though, were basically best buds.

Back in '92 on Jack Kerouac's birthday I got to hang out with Allen Ginsberg and participate in a small and intimate group meditation that he lead.

I also discussed the modern poetry scene at the time with him for a bit one on one.

At the time it was a rather trivial experience. Looking back on it after near 20 years I am humored by how profound of an impact this evening had on my artistic development over the years.
