I seem to remember someone saying something about him picking up a traffic cone and pretending he was killing zombies or something.

I bumped into him at sankeys in Manchester once, I said sorry and he just went WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and ran off

They both essentially created new forms of music.

I might go on to add GNOD too, just for being the most relentlessly experimental outfit there is currently.
In a few years they've traveled through psyche/noise rock > space/krautrock > afrobeat > drone/noise > jazz > industrial > early hardcore/jungle & beyond.
While I love Sunn, thats not really true. They essentially started as an Earth tribute.
I knew someone would say that but still, they've gone above & beyond the early Earth stuff IMO, it's much more conceptual, realized and varied that Earth 2 etc.

Whilst again, genius is a bit much, if we're looking properly at 2003+ artists who have created new models of music and properly experimented, electronica-wise, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble would be up there for me. Noir jazz meets post rock with elements of breakcore/trip hop, perfect combo.

I would imagine most of the genuine musical geniuses of the last decade are actually writing and performing a more classical form of music. Certainly not electronic music...

Didn't orchestra music etc end sometime in the 60's practically tho?

For me...
Flying Lotus
Madlib
Coki
Kromestar
Meshuggah
Deftones

idk probably some more. I know some of those artists have been around longer than the last decade but their genius level work has been in the last 10 years imo
