Re: The SNH Football thread
True but given the money United are likely to give them for Baines and Fellaini they'll probably manage.
It's a weird one for Everton, they are skint but the new TV deal should help them and Moyes has done well over the last few years. They can't pick up a manager because he's cheap because they expect, and deserve however fucking grudgingly, better. They aren't getting any cash from Manchester United because he was out of contract. Lennon seems also to be in the frame as is Martinez and both of them will cost though Whelan may want to shift when they are relegated anyway.

Re: The SNH Football thread
Laudrup has already ruled himself out. From his point of view he's probably another decent season at Swansea away from landing a job with a Champion's League team, which is probably why he's not interested in the Everton job. Everton are performing about as well as they can with their current level of spending, Laudrup could only really stand to lose, whereas Swansea still have room for improvement, plus the fact they're definitely in Europe next season.

That's what I thought. Laudrup would probably have more to spend at Swansea as well.meanmrcustard wrote:Laudrup has already ruled himself out. I genuinely fear for Everton. There's been a lot of talk of "can Moyes perform at Man U" "Where will Man U finish next season?" etc etc, but not a single mention of how fucked Everton could be. Moyes was the one thing from stopping that club from really struggling, and even better he almost had them fighting for Europe.
Re: The SNH Football thread
They have some decent footballers, ultimately a manager can only do so much and the players need to go out and deliver and they've done that pretty well for two years.
There's lots of much worse squads around but who they lose is going to be pretty important.

Dunno where this "with Moyes comes Fellaini, Baines, etc" talk has come from too. lol if that does happen though.
Re: The SNH Football thread
They are his best players and Everton are likely to need to raise money so it seems reasonable to consider it especially if he sees Fellaini as a midfielder primarily given it's a position Manchester United can strengthen.

Two hours build up is a bit much ITV. No one can withstand Chiles for that long.
Re: The SNH Football thread
I hate the way ITV do all that shit at the pitchside, just use the sudio like every other channel

Re: The SNH Football thread
I wish the cup final was the last game of the season.
And that the semi finals werent at wembley. The FA only have one cup and they do their best to fuck it up.

Wigan to lift the cup, Kone to score the winner. Wigan will then use that high to beat us on Tuesday.

Re: The SNH Football thread
I remember when I was a kid the coverage would start in the morning, they'd show the team busses leaving their hotels and shit like that. I remember it being so exciting, a proper event. It's a shame that the cup has lost that recently.wilson wrote:Two hours build up is a bit much ITV. No one can withstand Chiles for that long.

Re: The SNH Football thread
Aye my Dad says the same. Being the only live game of football shown on telly back then I can understand how it became an all day event. A simpler time!meanmrcustard wrote:I remember when I was a kid the coverage would start in the morning, they'd show the team busses leaving their hotels and shit like that. Edit: I should say that his 'time' was probably a lot before yours, not trying to compare you to my old man lol.

Re: The SNH Football thread
Wigan with two v.decent chances, they could pull this off uno...
Re: The SNH Football thread
Man city only seem to have one plan- pass it through the middle v 3 wigan centre halfs. Slowly realising is a pretty rubbish manager- should tell nasri and silva to stay wide.
