I caught one the other day, was so proud until I realised 'hey there's an alive fly between my fingers'
I panicked.
You should put it in the freezer for 60 seconds, quickly take it out (it should be unconscious) then tie some string around it.
There you have a pet fly.. You can take it for walks and everything.
Or..
Drown it in a glass. Make sure its dead.
Then pour some salt on it...It will come alive again.

Last time I caught a house fly I put it in the freezer for just over a minute, and glued it to a match and then breathed on it to dry the match and in the process resurrected the fly.

I set the match on fire and let the fly hover for a while until it died, burned crispy fly.
