I did some work on the Mix, made the kick a bit more audible, and cleaned up the bass a lot. I've also finished arranging the second half. I'm pretty happy with this track, but I'd love some outside opinions on what I could do to take it to the next level. Thanks for listening, and thanks for your support!

@captain planet - that loop is dirrrty, cant wait to hear that finished. btw did you ever put that other track up for dl?
@b_brooks - really like that worldly sound, but i have to agree with dubmatters, it needs more direction
@dubmatters - that drop is really cool, the kick in the intro sounds a little off though, idk if you a have filter on there or something but give it a little more bite
@dreadfunk - that tune is DOPE! the build up has some pretty high noise goin on maybe try putting a lp filter on the bass just to get rid of that really high end stuff

decided to remake my last one so heres what ive got so far

dreadfunk, dubmatter, and kushhmane, left feedback on your guys soundclouds. :D

so here's my first attempt at a remix. it's some drumstep/halftime dnb or whatever you want to call it. i'm trying to look for anything you can give me in terms of the mix itself, what's too loud, what's too soft, that kind of stuff. whatever other crit i can get would be welcome.

@panleft DUUUUDE. Love that shit. Can i haz DL?
@dreadfunk wow thats coolio. Only thing i would say would be to make the 2nd drop a little more different from the first.
@kushmane like the square arp. Needs moar SUB ;) but other than that it thought it was good.

Here is my 2step/wonky piece, please let it drop n stuff. Feedback is really appreciated and I'll try as much as I can to return it! :)

cheers for that mate, I haven't yet but if you've got AIM I'll send it over sometime if you want?
As for your tune, that intro has a really nice buildup but you should lose that siren, kills it imo

jakedubber wrote:@juan - Sounding cool man. I like your sounds and structure post-drop. I think the actual drop is a little messy though. The four kicks right before it are a bit weird and out of place. I prefer the second drop way more. The new synth sounds are awesome and bassy :) Keep working man, great stuff.

@cryokinesis - Nice drop. Your synths could be a little less harsh. It's be a lot nicer and chilled. Maybe that's not what you're going for. I also think that the overall track needs a lot more development. It's pretty samey throughout and gets kinda boring. The switch-up at the end could come a little earlier, but you should also try throwing in some different sounds.

@MRP5 - I've left a couple Soundcloud comments. Awesome track man, I love it. Kinda think it's done, but I could be wrong. Sorry I can't be more helpful :)

@thor_beatz - Amazing sounds, great production, awesome minimalist percussion. You really need to post 3 pieces of feedback like the first post says though. I'd love some tips on how to get resampled bass sounding like that man.

The idea for this track is stolen from something I did last summer, when I was really shit :) Hope you like it.
cheers for the heads up mate.

You can read a short overview of my resample technique here: http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=184603

@jakedubber: I like the drum break downs and tempo change. Maybe try and give the bass some more room with eq-ing (i.e making room for a nice bass spectrum, lowpass/highpass beats and bass)
@fds: your mid's are crushed to much imho. The snare looses punch when you 8bit crush it like this. Also there's some digital anomalies in your mid. Try bouncing your channels dry (no fx) and start mastering from there. Read up about subtractive eq-ing. Not a rule of thumb, but good practice too balance out your mix.
@captainplanet: The sub bass is leading life of it's own. It's not really a bassline like this, only filthy mid screamers. Try to get the sub part to work with your mids.

@dreadfunk - intro and buildup is sounding good and first drop is equally as great. synth melody near the end sounds a little corny but overall good job i cant really think of anything to add to it.

@kushmane - nice intro and i like the buildup too. the vocal sample sounds a bit loud to me or maybe you need to make the bass stand out more to compensate but i like the way its going. just try making all the sounds fatter. the percussion sound in the drums is cool

@johnst - the vocal sample works well with the melody and drums but i think everything needs to come up a bit especially the drums but it sounds hyphy so far keep going

@biggls - nice and soft sounding i like the sound of the drums but maybe add in some percussion in there maybe waterdrops or something of the like would sound cool but great so far. i was going to say bring the kick and snare up a tad but then you do so on the second drop im not sure if i like it or not but either way nice song

@captainplanet - i like the intro and especially the sweep into the drop how it sounds similar to the bass. a bit too much yoi" sound for my liking after a while but if you bring up the drums and sub bass a bit i could see it fitting better. overall good job

@thor_beatz - thanks for the crit. i liek the way your track is going everything sounds nice and big including the bass. if this is just an into then that would be insane

@thor_beatz - lovely job mate, very atmospheric and overall good sound!
@fds - Nice attempt, think you need louder hi hats, punchier snare and the whole mix needs to be louder
@Dreadfunk - very good man! love the atmosphere on the buildup and drop is produced particularly well.

Here is my latest offering - feedback is so greatly appreciated.

@ideate the intro sounds kinda like chasing shadows ill like the overall sound my critcism is I feel the drop is a little weak maybe you should add brief pauses here and there to make it stand out a bit more and not as continues
@fds like the arrangement but feel the sounds are a little below par
@thor_beatz sure is different, agree with fds should use this as an intro, and maybe fade in some more upbeat uplifting, solid sounds strong potiential

this is an old wip, havent really made anything new

@mindcontrol - I like it, nice chilly tunes!

I just made something this morning, which I think can turn out to be pretty good, but I don't know, you decide.
But remember, I am still only on my 6th day of making dubstep, so go alittle easy on me, thanks!

I know the kick is out of sync with the radar-sound, but I'll fix that.

@ nibzdub - the bass on this is alot, feeling this i am, the percussion is good nice change up in the sounds

@ dubmikey - its not all that mate, there is nothing that distinguishes you from any other person in that track to be harsh!

@ mindcontrol - yes my man, the b line again is sick ... finally i get some proper dubstep to comment on, non of this womp womp womp like last time ... good work mate keep it goin

@ ideate - this is some mad rusko sounding music ... its not that bad actually after all ive been sayin ... the synth on it is sick ... this is decent :dunce:

@ fds - not feeling that at all mate! again nothing that will distinguish you from another person ... would not take a 2nd listen

@ thorbeatz - NICE work, the chopped up feeling is sick its like a more warpier version of tunnidges tribe imo , not bad mate!

@ captainplanet - FIX UP MATE!

@ biggls - nice work im tryna make more music like this, bass orientated but more leftfield liking this alot mate!

im not hating in my comments im just giving my honest opinion as to what i think of it!

this is something that i have been working on something downtempo at 105bpm, more of what kinda anti-social have been making over the past year still bass orientated music, have a butch and let me know!

Hey guys, new here and haven't been making for more than a few days so I don't think it would be appropriate to critize other's tracks when I'm not good yet myself. I will let you know what I thought about it.

@nibzdub - I really like your song, love the beat and style of it all.
@Krucial - Love the track! Everything seems to have a real nice flow to it. keep it up.
@Steeple - Love the downtempo style man, real chill. I like it.

I made a quick little song with ableton live 8 and my new apc40 (which I love!). I know its not great but any kind of feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated thanks!

@Dreadfunk: Dude lovin your track, pretty unique and catchy! Def would not mind a 320 of it for my car :)
@Johnst: Not bad mate, reminds me a bit of bassnectar's style, def needs a bit more though, but good start!
@Biggls: Just my kind of track dude, well produced, love it! That nice smooth bass is sooo sexy :)
@ideate: Really diggin this track, love the abstract and atmospheric parts, great production all around in my opinion! Would love a 320 of Ferrofluid if you give them away!
@Steeple: Loving the downtempo mate, would love to see a finished product of this!
@Krucial: Only thing I have to say I would change about this is maybe add some reverb to those bongos or congas, whatever you are using, other than that I really enjoyed this tune!

Okay so this one I don't really want to add anything to it, I like the minimalness of it but if anyone has any constructive feedback shoot it at me:

@NICORISONE
Actual Dubstep Track: Not bad, sounds like you need to put a bit more work in on the synth sounds though, they sound pretty much default. The drop comes in a bit randomly. Create a bit of atmos before the drop. White noise maybe?

@melodium747
Parts of the percussion are well put together, but when bass comes in it sounds quite confused up until 1 minute in. Shaker seems to be the only thing that stands out. Try thickening the snare and kick sound and tone down on the shaker. Cool track though.

@krucial
Production is really well done, but during the intro, hold back on the bass a bit, so when it drops, it's more of an impact. Other than that, sounds quality.
We've finished these two tracks today, what do you think?
