I disagree that dubstep hangs on this album - I mean, yeah, this will no doubt be a historic lp, but I don't think it's the defining factor or anything. no way has 140 gotten stale, dungeon and commercial aside, there are more than enough excellent producers right under our noses making amazing stuff, real dubstep isn't anywhere near dead.

But dungeon is still exciting, anyway no need to talk about this stuff in this thread really.

I agree with CB, everyone talking about the 'death of dubstep', that shit will become a self-fulfilling prophecy if everyone has that attitude.
There is still loads of great stuff being released and new producers coming through, despite lots of producers defecting to other sounds.
I can't see 140 dying out any time soon.

This will be a landmark album I'm sure and hopefully it will inspire a new wave of producers.
Apart from the gorgon sound release, skream phatty drummer and pangaea inna daze I'm struggling to remember any fresh 140 tunes off the top of my head that habe come out of late, other than mala's releases.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm personally not feeling alot of the tracks I'm hearing, I strive for energy in the music, and this dungeon sound doesnt do that for me!

^ That track was mentioned weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure almost everybody who is interested in this album has heard it by now. Huge one though!

Oneman played Calle F at parklife, tent was fairly empty.. glad I was one of the few to witness it and it was fairly sunny too.. proper festival summer tune!!

this.

the artwork doesn't really grab me, i'd agree its fairly generic but i couldn't care less. i'm so psyched for this album. going to smoke up and go into hibernation with the headphones for 14 tracks as soon as i can! (assuming theres a digi release that is...haven't read the whole thread, any info on this??)

Yeah I can see how some people might say the artwork is a little generic or unexciting, but I'm sure the quality of the tunes will be flawless as expected.

Why is it that "true" dubstep seems to revolve around Mala? What about Coki? I know that there are huge differences between the two producers' styles, but it just seems as if Coki receives hardly any appreciation when compared to Mala. When do you think Digital Mystikz will dissolve?

Come to think of it, Coki has been cranking out shit lately...

I think it's cos Mala's stuff is "deeper" so to speak while Coki's is much more aggressive. My mum would listen to Mala and likes some of his stuff when I've been playing it, don't think she could ever listen to Coki.
