Haha, I'm not gonna read the rest of this thread (read the first post tho) but I was certain it would have been a thread from 2005 or something. Nobody has said "u like dubstep? int that jus ketamin musak?" to me literally for years. Thought we got rid of that image in 2006 when things started to get a bit more bouncy for lack of a better word (thankyou rusko and coki for that :p)

Agreed. I live down in Dunedin and the scene at Bath St and Outdoor Fests down here is nothing like this, most listeners truly just there for a good time with their mates + some epic tunes.

Don't take your friends to things like that then. You're ruining it for other people too by taking them.

People tend to do allot of K where I'm from, but like someone said, it comes and goes and has been here pretty much since the inception of the rave scene in North America anyways. It doesn't really dominate the drug scene, that is for sure, but it has carved out its own little place in peoples hearts... Or livers.lol..

Drugs will always be a part of the music scene, especially the electronic music scene. There is not that much we can do about that. If you want to worry about the drugs, I would worry more about what it is going to do to your friends if you feel that they could have a problem, and not so much about what it does to the Dubstep scene, because the music and the real heads don't give a fuck, it will just keep on going.

I just love this thread. Pure comedy.

I dunno if I'd go so far as to say that ketamine will ruin dubstep. After all it's been (sadly) the drug du jour at many clubs i whatever the genre for a while now. It was gaining popularity as dubstep was. However I don't think it's a good drug for any club experience. My first time at Fwd was mostly ruined and forgotten because of the stuff. I'd been looking forward to the night for ages. Was there early and stupidly accepted a few snorts off the end of key in the dark of the plastic people dance floor. The rest of the evening I just remember stumbling aroung, vaguely nodding, wishing i was sober for appleblims set. Thankfully dubstep crowds are generally friendly and people just laughed and my 'new friends' helped me along. - This would never have happened at some of the coked up jungle/garage nights I used to attend. I think most people who are into dubstep have quite refined musical tastes and are therefore usually quite intelligent, acepting and friendly. Most don't go for the drugs, it's not and I don't think will ever be a druggy scene. I know it's a cliche but it really is all about the music for most people into dubstep.

Like songs that end really suddenly and then you ask yourself why you were dancing, it wasnt that great, fuck it, dj rack up another track, maybe this will be as good as the first one.

K isnt a big problem here in the US for dubstep shows from what ive seen.........
