Any tips on getting those really warm, rumbly, grumbly basses like ya hear in 'Circling'

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZxkMmCQpYw

So far I've been detuning a few sawbass wave forms in albino, adding a extremely small amount of filter cutoff modulation, with a very fast LFO, then adding a tube saturation distortion to the mid and high frequencies. Its not the fact that it doesn't sound the exact same that bothers me its the fact that it just doesn't sound as half as good,

Any tips? Is there so kind of other modulation I''m not picking up on?

Hey guys. Need some more schooling. Here's the track:

Heralds of Change - Spotted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRZiJegTxlk

The arpeggiator is madness! Knowing how to get that synth sound is enough, but if anyone's up for breaking down the arp chords and the craziness that follows, that'd be cool too!

I am using fruityloops + VST's (albino ect)

Any help would be great

Thanks

been also trying to get that yoy sound on Reason, i've heard from mouth that it has something to do with bitcrushing, but the only bitcrusher i can find on Reason is Scream 4's digital (?) setting. which just detroys your sound, how can i get a nice yoy sounds without loosing the actually quality of it?
closest i've got is by applying a formant filter to my sound, but that just doesn't sound right ;/

Use the formant filter, than afterwards use bitcrush as a send effect, and keep the resolution (P1) quite high.

try my luck and bump anyway! this thread will probably die because everyone's asking about brutal electro wobble transformer whatever that's been covered in earlier pages.

First of all, on the last page noone is asking about brutal electro wobble transformer sounds.

Secondly, try helping some people with their sounds, maybe they will help you back :)

Hey DSF, I was wondering what you would suggest for me to do if I wanted to create a bass like the one in this Jakwob remix it starts at about 0:55 and I am trying to make something similar but can't seem to get it. I am using FL 9/Sonar 8 (Works well with my PCR-300) and Albino/Massive for my VST's and a bunch of others but those are the main two at the moment. Let me know what you think guys!

My guess is a few layered sawtooth waves as oscillators, make sure to spread the octaves. I (think) one of the octaves should be 7 semi tone's up so it plays a minor chord.

From there you should set up an LFO with a saw wave and connect it to the filter cutoff frequency of your low pass filter, probably a 12dB per octave filter. Make the amount negative so it goes down instead of up. (or make the LFO a one shot and wire the synth through a step sequencer/arpeggiator)

To give it that metal-ish feel, insert several super fast delays (8 ms, 12 ms, 16 ms) that will give it that harsh metal-ish sound.

EDIT: I listened to your example on laptop speakers, so excuse me if I'm way off.

In addition to my earlier "comedy genius" comment I would also like to add that kejk is a technical genius too. Damn I LOVE those Dutch guys *swoon*

Hi guys, I would really love to know how to make the sound used in this track. Its a organ/rave style sound that sounds quite old school. I guess its probably pretty simple to make but I'm quite knew to sound design and I dont have a clue. Cheers for any help!!
