I've seen some UK heads correct americans when they say "garage", sayin it's supposed to be pronounced "garridge", but garage originated in the U.S. so the difference in pronunciation seems irrelevant.

Both Americans and Brits say garage wrong. The music may have originated in the states, but the word itself is French. gah-raj folks.

Why would they say it the first way? "garridge" just sounds cooler imo

but there's no one right way to say it is there?

cos they're posh and they elongate and soften vowel sounds because it sounds less 'peculiar'

in england its a southern tendency, up north if you say 'baah-th' you're a stuck up idiot

obviously its not true, its just how you talk but us small minded northerners have trouble dealing with it

but no course there's no right way to say it, just better ways

i do prefer the northern accent TBH
