I'm not saying I would do any different. I'm just saying skrillex didn't taint the marley name, Damien did it himself by hopping on board with it. I certainly don't love the song, but I don't personally think it's bad either.
Now that you bring up mass appeal, I'm gunna have to listen to some gangstarr.

How would he have gotten tricked? All he would have had to do is listen to ANY skrillex song to hear what this one would sound like. To say he got bamboozled is to imply that he didn't listen to any of skrillex's music before agreeing to do the collab, which is equally as stupid on his part...

I'm sorry but Damian did that to himself because he's starving for exposure and wants to stay relevant... The cd he put out with nas was no better. There was like 1 or 2 good songs on the whole album, and the collabs were terrible at best.
I loved Distant Relatives, nothing wrong with that album at all

I'll hear nothing bad said at all about any of the Marley family..
But to be completely honest right now how has he fucking tainted the Marley name? He did a collaberation with Skrillex?
It's not like he fucking touched a kid is it?

I was incredibly excited about it but I honestly was disappointed in it.

I completely agree. My only point was blaming skrillex for tainting the marley name is a bit ridiculous. It's not like he took a bob marley song and remixed it; he did a collab with damian marley, a collab that obviously damian signed off on.

"Anyway, after my set, I walked offstage and saw him sitting down with a beer. I'm like, "Fuck, if there was any time to just say hi..." So I go up to him: "Hey, I just wanted to say you had a great show." He doesn't even look at me and then walks off. My heart breaks."
But i sympathize.
Also, they had a link to Deadmau5 playing after the Foo Fighters - this is one thing i never get - for one track, you brought in an electronic music act that doesn't perform everything live a la Squarepusher, what exactly are they doing? Is deadmau5 just queuing up the track and then releasing it (if hes a laptop DJ then just pressing play?). I dont get it. I saw David Guetta on that Graham Norton show "performing" his new track. Surely all he did was press play and wave his hands about, pretending to do shit, while the singer did all the work but got none of the credit? It was the funniest thing.
But it makes no sense to me.

havn't been online anywhere near as much over the past few weeks, left me with a dozen or so pages to read, hahahah.
whilst loading that boyinanotherboysass grimestep video, i noticed a classic YT comment that got me going something silly; 'Those vocals are about as grime as Hannah Montana. Have you ever met a black person before?'
thread has been delivering a fair bit of recent

No different to when pop singers mime the words to be honest. At least the KLF used to put on a good show when they went on top of the pops and made it abundantly clear that they were doing nothing live. Or the Orb who just played chess in spacesuits while the Blue Room played
