ok then, but I still don't see the purpose of this blog. I mean, it's embarrassingly misinformed for a start, and why would anyone want to learn about a genre from someone who is only just discovering it himself anyway? Like, half of the shit you've written on it is just paraphrased from Wikipedia. Be patient man, you'd want to spend like a year getting into it and gaining a broad understanding before you try to educate other people. At this point, you can't offer anything that someone else isn't already doing much, much better than you.
It's actually hard to explain on a dubstep standpoint. In Internet marketing terms, the blog I created is basically a conversation starter. Should someone with a deep understanding about the genre stumble upon the blog, and have the same point of view as yours, he/she will surely comment. Like mass media, good or bad publicity is still publicity and will gain attention. I am using the blog personally and does not have the purpose of "Teaching" which means any visitor doesn't need to "Learn". I'm using the site as a portal and does not target the same traffic this forums gets because of search engine optimization. I don't want to go through the details as I will need to explain internet marketing, social dynamics, keyword research and youtube video marketing. In simple terms, its a strategy.
bro you've got a lot a learn from reading the first page of that blog.
1) stop quoting wikipedia every other sentence takes away a lot of credibility
2) dubstep wasn't called garage per say, but instead evolved out of it as well as grime, dub, and dnb.
like macca said previously, do your research so you don't have to quote wikipedia for all your information.
best of luck

Hey I'm Empire VII,
I'm 20, I'm a dad, I'm in the Royal Navy and between all that I like to produce.
I've been dabbling with production now for about 4 months and I've finally made a "persona" and started releasing tracks.
I'm hoping this forum can provide me with some advice on techniques, aswell as sharing some of my own. I'm also hoping it can help broaden my fan base and I can meet other producers and listen to new songs.

hello internet habitants.
im from the east coast of canada, ive recently become consumed with dubstep/house types of music.
ive fooled around with a few different programs and free websites, but i know virtually nothing about the technical terms and whatnot.
if people would be so kind as to perhaps give me a "dubstep slang" rundown and maybe some software/hardware suggestions (preferably free software) i would greatly appreciate it.
