Here's the first bounce of a track I've been working on. Built around an 808, tape echo, twinkly synths and lots of sidechained vinyl crackle. Like any 808 track it sounds a little weak played quietly but pretty huge with a decent sub. Not really mixed yet but the song is basically there I think, so was looking for feedback on the structure and overall arrangement/vibe/parts/melodies/drums/etc before I start fiddling around too much with EQ in the next few days...

EDIT: it would appear that Soundcloud has absolutely raped my kick drums. Not sure what's happening there, they sound pretty clean on my mp3. Still, you can hear the structure well enough I guess, and the crappy encoding actually glues the mix together a bit.... maybe someone should make a "shitty mp3" VST

Massive 808 here, almoss drowns the rest of the percussives out though, yhe I have same issue, think it is internet latency issue? Otherwise solid track here bring the clap to the front a bit more otherwise really enjoying this one, good arrangement. Bring it back here when you made that clap snap my face.

Would also like to hear more hi hat variation in the second bit,

Cheers.

@ dustyspeakers liking it so far mate, but think you could do with turning the string in the background down a bit on my speakers its overpowering the bass, and the kick could do with a bit more punch! nice work so far tho keep it up :D

I really like some of the stuff people are putting on here

Layzie that new one's got me nodding..

Jaydot - the first drop punched me in the face. :)

Tripwire - like the previous poster said, I like how the bass creeps up on you, the piano in the beginning is nice also.

Oh and Muzzah I like how that song just flows through, It's great, real laid back.

Are my levels off? My speakers suck..

Loud Flavor wrote:@ Kris-One, that bassline sounds hot and I agree with Goose. Keep working on it :)

@ FSTV, nasty tune indeed

Here's the same project again, EQ'd it up a bit and lowered some more reverb on some parts, tell me what ya think

This track has a great feel to it. Diggin the whistle for sure! keep it up!

@ a.paul, I really like the drum pattern and the aisian string sample. they fit together well IMO but you need to do something to bring out that bass a little. some eq on the low end maybe? def keep workin on this ine, id like to hear the finished product :)

Weedcall - that 1/3 time song is pretty awesome! Nice job!!

First song ever near finished! i haven't been doing this long, and have been building my sample library beacause I refuse to post a song in which I used other peoples samples or presets... It's not mastered with the exception of small EQ and compression i did

I did every piece of sound design, with the exception of a cymbal sample and a vocal sample I cut from Mortal Kombat... Please tell me what you think, I've only been doing this about two months maybe, so if it totally sucks feel free to say so- but take that into consideration. It's in my signature
