Not at all. It's really bland and plastic sounding. It doesn't have the kind of vibe garage had. It's very flat boring.

This has nothing to do with the fact I don't like disclosure, the rhythms, production style, attitude and general aesthetic of that tune are vastly different (or in my belief lacking) compared to old garage tunes

I find it best not to compare a producer to certain genres and just enjoy the vibe I get from the music. Bitching about a producer for not being true to a genres sound such as Disclosure to UKG is ridiculous especially when most of their tunes is house music.

Those disclosure bits sounds like a really polished and clean version of ukg

I wasn't complaining that Disclosure don't sound like UKG. I was just saying they don't

Me not liking them is unrelated.

ok, now there's an opinion I can respect. I still don't really agree with you (I'm mainly going off that 20 minute UKG mix that Skream did a while back, plus some other bits I've heard here and there, so I'm obviously no expert here), but that makes more sense to me than "it's nothing like UKG because it's bland and boring."

I don't think anyone was doing that mate, we're just discussing whether or not it is/sounds like UKG. No one's saying they like/don't like it because it does or doesn't sound like UKG, that's a different point altogether.

Noone was bitching about disbrosure not being tr00 garridge, just that they're shit/boring/overly overhyped.

Sorry I should have specified, that comment wasn't directed to any of you guys, it was directed more towards other places on the internet were people were complaining about Disclosure making shitty UKG when they have made only a few UKG tracks. I was just venting my frustration. btw I completely understand why you guys don't like Disclosure.

But I do like Disclosure...

Well yeah, but they're actually exciting! I can get down to that, schranz is quite possibly (and deliberately?) the most repetitive of all styles of techno I've heard, from the back of a warehouse every tune is literally identical.

extratone / splittercore is awful. objectively terrible

I like Disclosure, what I don't like so much is the fact my house mates are all loving them, when a few months ago I was being told to "turn that shit off", but they're playing them b2b With Swedish House Mafia, Bangarang or whatever else is in the charts. Which I suppose is maybe a hipster thing to say.
