I get no love in the dubs section, weh....

I'm fairly new to dubstep but I've been lurking in the murky depths of the underground for almost a decade. Wrote a new tune, I'm going to try to make a track to go with it and market the two as a A & B side......In the process of starting the second.....Let me know what you think because as far as I'm concerned I'm going to tweak it once maybe 2 more times and would like to hear what you have to say...........Werd
Frankenhadder...

Er, not exactly dubstep but not really anything else either, new track that came out of some random experimenting on my virb. Called "Drum'n'Step", probably wont be to everyones tastes, I'm a cambidge boy so I guess my love of mash up breakcore influenced this a bit >_>
Would love any feedback for this or the other tracks up there, slightly redid the levels on fried gold but nothing to write home about. I'll be back to give more feedback soon dont worry

more feedback....
Lowpass-i listened to dragons and its good, it's not really my kind of thing so i can't comment really, just keep on at it.
TK-I like the first two tracks in your player, 'Float' and 'Stack' second one is doing it for me, i like the forward momentum of your rhythms its in the drums, drums, drums....
sub-7-sorry mate i couldn't get your audio player to work properly, it kept stopping and my internet 'aint the fastest! i tried.
Sepsis- i like 'Barry Fright' mate, weird title tho! the drums are cool in this, and i'm generally not a huge fan of the wobble (gasp, outrage) but this track is cool. Nice one bro.

Ok, sub 7 - I really like this track, the one thing I'd say is at points some of the instruments sound a bit harsh, what software are you using? I don't really know any advice to give but yeah otherwise good. The way it flows is pretty seamless like between the basses and how they interact with each other.
TK - I don't particularly like what the kick drum is doing some of the time but other than that I like the general sound you've got going, would be nice to have the quick wobbles in the background a bit louder though I reckon. Not right in your face still but I can barely hear them and I have my speakers fairly loud at the moment. (I had a quick listen to your other two tracks as well and I think stack is wicked)

para,
I got it, Iknow which one you're talking about, I have a lot of distortion on the one hard instrument. I need to tone it down a bit, ease up on the harshness and maybe lower the level a bit. I believe the harsh sound instrument is created with reason (combinator), but I've added FX to it through logic, so it will be a combination of tweaking both. glad you liked it, big up, thanks for your feedback para!

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

tk: nice track but ur levels dont sound right to me. Like som1 has said your wobble in the background is a little too quiet and i think ur bassline sounds like it has had the bass eq'd up and or is a too low a note? could do with mid bass maybe.
sub7: like it! some nice arrangments with the drums. Your audio player sucks tho:p

Try listening to some other kinds of music you wouldn't normally listen to.
Alternatively, give your ears a break and don't listen to anything for a couple of days.
Another good tip is, just whack any old stuff into your DAW sequencer and mess around with time signatures and stuff.
if you need inspiration in the way of sounds, may i suggest the 'OLGA' plug in synth, just google it, it's free and it's choc full of unusual sounds that'll inspire you.
Give it a go and don't worry mate, the muse will return!

Don't forget the rules for this thread (check out three other peoples links and leave feedback).
That said, I am definitely feeling your tracks! Great programming, and great balance of the ambient sound but also keeping your tracks interesting.
Loving "Desire", the drum programming is ace.

Feedback on any of my tunes would be safe.
Obviously Its good that I get stuff like "Big Up" and so on, makes me know people like it. However I'm looking for constructive critisim as well
All the tunes are on Myspace, the most recent being S**t Your Pants.

jBird, easy tiger! your tracks are not bad, 'watch 'dis rudeboy' being the pick of the bunch. everything sounds good and levels are right. On some of your other tracks particularly 'Jah no dread' i'm struggling to hear the drums at all. it could be the myspace player which can be picky with audio. Don't give up so soon old fruit, plenty of advice on offer, just gotta be patient innit!
Theedman- i like 'This love' and 'Desire' good drums on both with a nice 2 step feel to 'em, 'Desire' sounds a bit too loud in parts, like i said the myspace player can be a pain. out of the two i'd go for 'This Love' nice musical aspect with the melody and a subtle rhythm again. like the side stick sound, plus an MC isn't gonna hurt either. overall, nice levels and eq, placement of sounds in the mix and overall mastering. Yeh man!
DubEastmanRiska- i listened to the first two tracks, i prefer the digital reggae feel of the second, the first track is just plain weird and i couldn't get my head around it. sorry!
Penguin Snares- 'Shit Your Pants' 'aint gonna win the Ivor Novello award for the best song title mate! however i did listen to your tunes and i'm not a huge fan of wobble's and dark basslines, so i'm not the person to speak about that particular strain of music. Overall they struggle with a lack of change and sounded a bit flat. try some reductive eq'ing on the bass sounds they're too 'mid range'.

Hah cheers mate. Not too sure where I got the name from for that track but thanks for the feedback
Gave 'Another day' a listen. It's sounding good so far but I would say bring the kick drum down in the mix but push the rest of the percussion up a bit louder because some of it sounds a bit distant in my opinion. But the rest is sounding cool.
Cheers
