Disagree, they're just words used to classify stuff rather than actual genres.

You can't say that tunes like "Bacteria" and "Woo Boost" are the same genre. :cornlol:

Why not? They're both sub-heavy tunes at around 140bpm.

If these two are the same genre, why can't Bacteria and Woo Boost be? Everything else is a matter of personal taste. You can argue that brostep doesn't represent the true sound of dubstep, which it obviously doesn't, but completely different genre? Nah.

I mean, look at say 'Blood on my Hands' by Shackleton compared to 'Angels' by Vex'd. They're both dubstep, and I'd argue that they're further apart from eachother than Bacteria and Woo Boost

Good point. Both are sub heavy and 135~140bpm, but they appeal to different crowds, have different influences, different attitudes behind them. That's why people come up with subgenres. But whatever, I rather just enjoy music

The thing I love about dubstep is the diversity within the genre. You always have some type of dubstep you can play, no matter what mood you are in. And yeah, I think brostep, dungeon etc aren't subgenres, just words to describe the type of dubstep you are after

Same with jungle/dnb :W:

like in my latest mix I go from

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsoHNqgyxj4" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

into

<iframe src="/forum/video.php?url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS_bnjKtnt4" frameborder="0" style="overflow:hidden; height:auto; max-width:540px"></iframe>

It shows my mood to be slightly unstable :6:

you weren't on here for the lovestep fiasco

I think I came across a dude on soundcloud who labeled all of the things he made as "lovestep"
