I did have a say in it, we both agreed it looked all right. I would go and look at it with her but I work in London all week and she works Saturdays so there's never really time to go together. I'm confident it'll work, I guess that's all that really matters.

Best of luck to you, fella. Though living away from home for the first time and moving in with the missus...could be something wonderful.

Could be a fucking 'mare.

Do not miss London prices at all. 600€ p/m here gets us a two bed/two bath/two storey apartment with an office downstairs for studio purposes. Bills included 8)

Thinking of Australia as there is a shortage of people who do my job (SEO) there. Asked last week if i wanted a skype interview for a position in melbourne, with 'beachfront 2 bed villa' and $120,000 aud salary + 'living expenses' :?

Really hard to make that kind of change though.

If you've got the chance, go for it.

Living in London was fucking awesome, don't get me wrong. But a pay bump, living costs that have halved, not to mention swapping commuting to Slough to working in Madrid...no brainer.

I think the plan is once the missus finishes her MA is to go traveling for a bit, head to Aus from there to test the waters (stay if we like it)

the music scene here + friends and family are hard to move away from though.

Looked at a small 1 bed place in stratford that was 1400 a month and got told it was one of the cheapest flats around. :u: :u: :u: :u: :u:

London wages would make up for it - but as you get taxed 40% everything over 32k now its all a bit much.
That rent price is like moaning that you can't buy a house in Chelsea with a garden for less than £1m.

I've never paid more than £750pm rent for a 1 bed flat in London (and that's split between two) and none of the flats or areas have been shitholes. Paid £1200 a month for a 2 bed place in Kilburn (50metres from zone 2 tube) that had 4 of us living in it a year ago- £300pm each, currently paying £350pm in a shared place....if money is an issue then London rent neadnt be expensive. (and money shouldn't be an issue if you're earning over £32k)

Where do you find these deals? looking at kilburn on gumtree studios are listed at like 1400 a month (http://www.gumtree.com/p/flats-houses/s ... 3/79268921)

I just now did a quick search and there seem to be a lot of kilburn studios for about £750pm

Kilburn isn't even especially cheap, head southeast or a bit further out in any direction and its cheaper- it's what most Londoners do

100's for less than £700pm: http://www.gumtree.com/search?property_ ... cope=title
