@Elyhess, get a melody goin on or some fx in places jus fuck around with wacky sounds on certain hits or offbeats they will add more life and diversity

@molzie, decent mixdown, some are out of time check 60 seconds, Layer up a couple more snares, peak around 200hz bout 6db

@alexandercunningham, Nice and chill, synth is clipping from after 1.40, check your gain structure

@boring, nice and clean, i'd like to hear more energy in the drums, your groove is nice just need more power in them

@ascian, Lovin this one, right chilled number.

This is the drop from my new WIP, good bit of mixdown and work to do on it, will probably change the melody and work on the synth, feedback and comments welcome

Just to warn you mate, you have to feedback on AT LEAST 3 people before posting a tune for feedback yourself or you probably won't receive any..
Ah sorry man. But yeah I like your Sav remix. Some quality work. Not so much for the Metal Step tune.

@fat person torturer - the beginning i thought was way something other than what it went to... not bad man.

@congojack - this track is madness yo.. lots of layers, an great synth work. mixdown is tight imo. sweet work man.

@crowsteppa - nice 8bit intro.. drop needs some kinda space before it, but it fits weel. very nice indeed.

@sunshaft - this track is pretty sweet, id bring that main synth down some in the main part, its just a tad bit harsh..other than that, a great start for sure

@ascian - you've always got some good work to hear, but i missed your wip... i'll try to catch it again when you repost.

@alexander - very nice chilled tune. try adding some incoherent vocal samples kinda glitched out in the background.. this track is very good man.

@-boring - man i really like that new jacket tune.. very kinda industrial feel, has a really good groove. on thing is it gets a little repetitious. but it works for sure.

added some more to this tune i posted a bit back... im still kinda iffy on it though. check it out an let me know what you think guys.

I like 1:47 and on. But by the end I think it's too repetitive. Try to put some more sounds in there that compliment the main lead.

@LukeRaith Damn what do you use for your piano? Sounds so natural and good. You did a really good job with your track. I think you should make the piano lead go up in notes somewhere in the beginning that match the low piano lead.

I'm listening as I type.

@Jimbeaux First thing I notice is the nice hook melody from the offset, good plan on that one, very tight sound design with the synth patches. Nice groove going with the drums and decent buildup. As it drops though the drums lack width, unless this was your intention the drums could do with some panning with the hats/highs and to me the snare could do with adding some width to it. A good tip on this is to create an aux send for the snare channel and place some heavy reverb on the aux channel, add a gate to that channel and key it to open when the snare hits on the dry channel, mix parameters to taste so the gate closes as the dry snare hit ends and mix it back in with the dry channel, instant width!

The background reverb type accompaniment sound to the first main drilling type bass sound could do with a slight boost in amplitude, it adds a nice character to the main sound but as the tune at this point sound very mono-ish adding more things to notice in the stereo field will offset the mono feel right here imo. Again though thats your choice as you do have a call and response thing going on with the stereo field with the wider bass, again its your choice, to me at least it does sound quite mono over all is what I'm saying. Sound design is epic with the bass and sound choice/design for the incidentals on the drum pattern are top notch too.

You could try working the beginning hook melody into the main verse of the tune a bit more because the melodic content sort of falls flat after the intro. Tune has a wicked groove up through the main 2/4 measures, once the the high end melody comes in with the fast attack triangle wave sounding patch, to me this sound feels like it needs quite a bit done to it to make it stand out a lot more, it sounds weak in comparison to the other sounds which are very beefy and carry their own weight, the contrast between those sounds and this new one sort of amplifies the thin-ness of this sound. Reverb/chorus/compress/distort/w.e. it up to give it more of a nature in keeping with the other sounds, What comes to mind is light distortion, lengthen the notes slightly and add a little vibrato to come in just towards the end of the note.

At the second drop I'm feeling you could possibly get the bass to have more of a melodic interplay with the high end melody you got going on. A few slight note changes to add a subtle call and response relationship could really spice up the second verse imo. Overall I think the tune is really well made, the levels are well balanced, the sound choices are top notch, the tune is constructed well. My only over all constructive criticism is the tune feels very mono, It could lend a lot from you putting more work into the panorama and stereo field movement/width e.t.c. Getting a bit of movement in that respect should get it sounding tight.

Hope this helped!

Here's a tune I've been working on for the past week. It's only half done. A very chilled dubstep remix of a DnB tune called cold hands. I feel like I've got the levels nicely balanced and a nice flow to the tune over all, but please give me some feedback, fresh ears are always welcome, the more technical the better, as always!

@Turnipish Thoughts

It's very pretty, and I like how the different elements float around. I think your sounds would benefit from some warmth, they sound too clean for my ears, like theres too much empty space. And the voice and the piano are very organic and natural sounding, and I think maybe warmth or even some rough edges to the drums might make it sound better, as they sound very clean atm, if that makes sense. I really liked it though.

@jimbeaux

idk what hes saying but the "worsh" thing is too loud. I'm digging the thick snare and kick. Idk what you were going for, but this track does not seem danceable. Not saying thats bad. It's pretty dark and creepy. I like how you mixed it up, and didn;t keep it too repetitive, and how you took out layers near the end. I feel if you kept repeating that chord progression it woud get old, so I think it needs to go in a new direction, to keep things fresh. Maybe you can play with more complex piano, where the piano takes the focus, because I thought it was a nice addition.

@ Congojack

there's a lot going on. The way youre using the different elements in rhythm is great. The airy synth that goes back and forth is distracting form the bass line, although it's interesting. That may be a mixing issue. But I feel like the bass is a lacking prominence maybe in volume and it's getting buried. I'm listening to it multiple times, and it's very hard to follow the bassline in the pre 4to the floor part especially. its like your songis trying to be both a melodic symphony and a dance track and I think the melodic symphony is hiding the dancy bass. I personally think theres a lot of potential, you've got interesting sounds and theyre doing cool things, i just think everything more of its own space so it can be more easily followed.

I'm working on a wideboys remix for fun and competitiveness. I'm trying to improve what I've got so far, specifically concerned with the mix, and interesting drum arrangements. Anything else that you notice as well. Do you think theres not enough going on? too much? I would appreciate some real constructive criticism please. Intro is not developed at all btw, so don't let that fool you.

@congojack

Nice drop man!! I would punch in the kick and snare a bit more. EQ the kick, layer the snare and push it up in the 200hz . The drums just need to come out more and youll have a HUGE track! :)

@jimbeaux

Loving the dark vibes here man! Really nice monster sounds. I cant really think of much here. It is a bit repetitive so try add in something different here and there.

@Turnipish Thoughts

Wow really nice track. I zoned out for a minute there. The drums could do with a bit more spice and layering. Everything sounds very airy and spacey almost empyish, perhaps looking more into the low end section of your track would do wonders.

@briskisgoodforu

Really nice man. I would suggest taking out some of the cymbals, they sound a bit over powering or it could be EQing your snare so that it has more of a low mid end and it will come out a bit more. Try chopping up your midi tracks and samples (resampling), will help focusing on getting the track more of a swinging effect. Overall really nice work man. :)

Heres my WIP I have been struggling with for months :/
Please any feedback,especially constructive will be sooo highly appreciated!???????????????

@Tomkay: LEAVE FEEDBACK FOR OTHERS BEFORE POSTING A TRACK

@Darkrow: Oh man huge track. Filthy as hell and that growl you've got is insanity. The mix sounds pretty awesome as well. Good track.

@Briskisgoodforu: Ive never heard the original of this song so take my feedback lightly. I wanna "feel" your snare more. Your kick is great though, nice and punchy! Overall the remix sounds great, REALLY groovy man. Just wanna feel your snare more.

@Turnipish Thoughts: This is chill as hell. I really like what you've done. Id turn up that sub bass a tiny bit though. Good track.

@jimbeaux: Haha monster tune. I just feel like it needs to be "fatter" The sounds are very thin. Try using some unison on those mid range sounds.

@congojack: HEAAAVYYYY. Track is bonkers man. No complaints here.

Here is a new WIP of mine. Its quite boring at the moment, but I think it sounds pretty nice so far. Lemme know what I can do to spice it up and add some variation.

Hello steppas

@fat person torturer. I like the samples, but I think you could work on the buildup a bit more, maybe some white noise or percussion fx to make a little less repetitive. Midrange is liquid if thats what you're going for but I'm having trouble hearing any sub. my favorite bit is the synth melodies at 1:30, very dancefloory.

@jimbeux. the synths are really filthy and i like how they talk to each other, piano melodies and layering with the sub seems to be spot on. only thing i would try to add to this is a bit more variation in the percussion, either some fills or different hats etc. good job though man!

@congojack. helluva drop. Percussion and samples are both pretty on point. would bring down the levels slightly on some of the whooshing sounds as they tend to drown out some of the main melodies (could be your intention). nice1

@Turnipish thoughts. Wow, man really good work here. Very well textured, the tracks ambience add a shitload to the weighty subs you throw in there. drums sounds fine to me, maybe bring up the hats tad but not much.

@antman. Yes boss! old school stepper feel. Very weighty and levels are nice but obviously you need to add a bit of variation (percussion, melody, etc.)

Here are two WIPs that I am currently working on. Id appreciate any feedback on them both, trying to get them cleaned up by the end of the week. Thanks in advance!

Congojack: Nice one I'm a big fan of that lead synth! Try to clean up some of your basses with eq, but overall sounding sick!

jimbeaux: That kick is huge! I think you could try to tighten up the snare and those wobbles, and make them even better, but it is sounding great so far!

Turnipish Thoughts: Nice opening, digging the vocal. The beat is good, but even though it is chilled, I think it needs more clarity, it sounds a little distant, and should be the centre of the mix. Good so far though!

briskisgoodforu: Cool oldschool vibe to this one, like it man!

Darkow: This sounds pretty good, like the fx, nice job!

antman: This type of dub isn't my area of expertise, but I'd say get those hi hats shuffling more, it sounds very static, needs more flow. The bass is nice.

Here is my WIP, I've been working on it for a while (3 Days on the kick alone) Let me know what you think of the layout, and the sounds in the track! Thanks you, it's much appreciated!

Hey all,

Turns out my SoundCloud was broken before when trying to upload this so I have uploaded again.

Soundcloud

Would love to get some feedback / criticism. This is the first Reese I have ever made so just want to see if I am on the right track. :-). I had so much fun making it so defiantly going to start working on some more Reese bass sounds.

Personally I think I need to work on some of the LFO modulations, some sound a bit odd. To get the bass moving i've put in a lot of automation with Auto Panning as well as automating EQs and Distortion units.

Let me know what you think :-).

<EDIT> I haven't done much with the drums on this, the drums are just EQd a little and have some parallel compression but aren't layered or anything and I haven't really spend time picking samples. I was mainly focusing on the bass sound and trying to improve on this rather then the drums :-)

@Noisestorm, Unreal tune, thats an absoloute stomper. Good job son.

@J-hilla, Nearly lost meself there in wagwan real nice took me out of the room,
Percussion in black pudding is sweet, take some of the air out make it sound deeper.

@Brisk, Fairly jumpin bud wouldnt be my area but it's soundin tight, maybe get some more punch in the snare and less high end, unless thats the intention it does layer well, fairly old skool hip hop sound

@Darkow, Unreal i love that raw industrial sound, absoloutly reeks of the Command and Conquer games, take the reverb down a little, mix it down and send me a 320 when it's done.

@Jimbeaux, Love the flow the sounds just glide into eachother, mixdown is good, lookin forward to hearin it when it's done.

@Antman, You got the structure right, add some variation in the hats and play around with velocity to get em natural, Layer some white noise risers and descenders before and after the drop to add dimension and pan your hats. add some 200hz on the snare it''ll give it more punch. Keep it up

Thanks fer the feedback on the last one, i've changed it since then and took a new route with it, gonna work on the intro more and the rest of the song but feedback on the latest changes would be much appreciated as i'm going to finish the song after that.

Sup ppl,

@LukeRaith - Tight tune diggin the vibe aye, the intro reminds me of this age of dub song i used to listen to ages ago. I think some more variation would be key.

@BOMAN - Not my style, but yeah man sounding like a banger :P

@alexandercunningham - Your track was an absolute pleasure to listen to. bliss to my ears. everything sounds so tight already but some more bass movement and a little extra melody would make it epic, ive always wanted to give this vibe a go. very hotflush sounding.

@elyhess - i like it dude, sounding sick. got some mean synths in there. only thing i would say is maybe look a bit closer into the structure of the wobbles.

@Sunshaft - absoluteley loving that main wobble bro, it sounds just a tad to distorted or something, but only a little bit. might be something else not to sure lol D: sounds sick tho dude.

@Molzie - !!! Fuking huge tune bro. nice to see lotsa dark beats coming from kiwi's now :D

@Turnipish Thoughts - Wow, loving this dude, the ambience is perfect and the is super clean !

@tomkay 13 - I really liked the intro, was expecting some dark trancy dubstep beat. Not really a fan of the drop though sorry i thought it sounded a little silly. im sure with a bit of tweaking you could turn it into something mean though haha :)

@j-hilla - sick track loving the deep bass, mean vibes. quality is awesome, could use a tad variation and itd be set! 2nd track is sick too haha! old skool vibes hard, mean minimal tune, percussion is excellent and that 2nd drop very well thought out.

This is my current work in production, still wanna do a lot to it but yeah would appreciate some feedback :)

@Disperse, Think i heard this tune when you first started it. Got loadsa potential love the setting it creates, aint got my speakers but from what i can hear cut some low mids from the bass, get some evolving synths melting into each other and panned around a bit and you could make it an atmospheric behemoth. The mixdown on this will be nice lookin forward to hearin it
