Don't know what to think about this track. Not my cup of tea but there are some interesting sounds that I did like like the stuttering glitch sound, the vocals and the chords(could uses some variation but not much). I couldn't hear any bass but it could be because I am on headphones atm.

Ending part of the clip is cluster fucked, because the levels are out of wack. But I like the direction

Not bad. I make some 4/4 electro house bangers to. Its very Ambient sounding and I don't know what direction your going. Maybe do a slight side chain some where in there on one of the leads and make the kick a lil heavier? But if its jsut chill all the way like that maybe a couple of autiomation changes in certain areas yeah?

I fucking love this thread :e:
The structure is good. The kicks are not popping out enough for me though, and the synthesized dialog sounds harsh to me, like it is too loud, but then again mixing down and levels is a weak point for me.

Anyways, give a penny, take a penny, here is a new one I am working on:

Soundcloud

Not sure how I feel about the snares, whole thing is kind of tribally to me, and I should probably work in a bit of automation on a few elements plus some more edits at the end of 8- or 16-bars. Actually have two or three other tunes in various stages, so I might throw them up too; they're a bit older though, been sitting around a while.
Thanks bra, I'm still working on the final master, and I think the synthesized vocals are going to go, just as soon as I knick my mate's mic

Liking this track so far, it all fits together quite well and you've done a great job making the low end pump. The vocals are at just the right volume to give the "vibes." It definitely feels unfinished though-- you need to add something overtop that awesome bass. Maybe a synth or even just a few well-placed beeps or noise samples or something, but the first build and drop are probably too repetitive. I know you're going for a minimal-dub sound and you've definitely nailed the style, but it needs something else. If you listen to a guy called Graphics, he does a fantastic job of laying awesome, haunting synth lines over mainly chilled dubstep. Of course, I make mainly club tracks, so I'm a bit biased.

But yeah, the mastering and levelling sounds great, very professional, so well done on that. Drums are also good, and work with the track, although could maybe use slightly more variation on the kick-snare pattern. I like to change up my drums every fourth or eigth loop with a break on the fourth beat, usually a double-snare or something, and that adds a lot of momentum. Definitely interested in where you'll take this, and if you think you have other tracks that are ready for listening then by all means put them up!

NeonORdance....not diggen at 33 seconds or the first break. Seams like it cuts in and out to harsh. The drums remind me of a Beatie boys tune which is a cool thing. the track through out just needs a good mix but I tell you I dig around 4 minutes.

Ransom - I did the Snare I dig the Tribalish techno kinda deal. Quality from what I can hear in my headphones at work. I'll have a good listen at home in the studio tonight.

hey man thanks for giving some feedback, i'll be sure to hit up your posts as well.
i was trying to get myself acclimated to producing with logic again with this track...the end is def fucked...i'm thinking i need to do without those new voices that come in and work on that original bass.

Ez. This is my first post on here. I've tried listening to some stuff posted in this thread but my connections terribly slow so I haven't been able to. Feel like I'm missing out somewhat. Anyway, here's a couple of tracks I'm working on (I'm working trough cheap earphones atm so I can't really tell if the levels are OK or not)...

Second Drop

Haven't been too sure if I like where this has gone. What do you think?

Longest Night

Started this after being up all night recently. Feedback?

EZ peeps,

This is my first post on the dubstep forum.
And this is the first dubstep track I've made.
Not done yet of course, but anyone with some feedback on it?
What to do... What not to do, etc... Anything would be glorious.

Lol its not really dubstep and it kinda sucks... but something I was screwing around with the other night. Played live drums meself. Good for a laugh. Spent most of the time trying to get live drums to sound decent (hard to do)

Not bad at all considering it's a first attempt. I think your heavy section could do with being a bit lower, try a more obvious subbass perhaps? Rewally like thew techy bleeps in the intro, i'd make more of them. Nice vocal sample too. I thought there was much too much splash on your snare during the techy breakdown, experiment with much less reverb and probably a shorter decay as well.

Promising stuff though :)

would still like to know where to take this btw:

I'd try to get the drums a bit more syncopated, at the moment they sound too static.

It's a nice start, and i realise this is the WIP thread, but you have a lot to do in making it interesting. The incidental/atmospheric sounds and subtle variations in patterns are what make tracks hold your attention. Yours sounds nice, but barely changes for way too long. Mix up the drum pattern every 8 bars, add a couple of rides, a random sound or 4 and you've got a nice tune here.

just wondering....did you listen to this with a good low range speaker??? its extremely low level, alot of things cant b heard otherwise!!lolz, drums get annoying before long, espesh when i make everything from scratch..no samples, no loops, turn the subs up!!!yeah heaps of work still..but ill leave that for when i get into the studio, easia with a pro tools 24ch interface mixing desk thingy.....2 weeks before i get free rein!!yayeh

i use 2 15inch jbls as monitors ay, they have the mad low - mid range.couple of dampened tweeters in the box also. when i turn it up, the house shakes, haahha. so its made for big sound, small speakers are made for radio!!! but with the 128 mp3 compression of soundcloud, ya miss out on some freqz anyways...wait for the 320!!!haaahhha
