Yeah, Fabric were supposed to be doing more about sexual harassment issues after they launched their If You See Something Say Something initiative back in March.TopManLurka wrote:lol i've never seen this happen still but interdasting you say that after the rape incident last week, people are saying that the door policy there needs to be stricter. i dno how you can spot a tnuc in a queue though.wub wrote: and I've seen people pulled out of the Fabric queue and being told they're not getting in on that night.

In the UK, bouncers are just generally big/fat blokes. Anywhere else on the continent (it's even more mental some clubs I've seen in America), some of the bouncers have that ex-military vibe about them and it's fucking terrifying.hutyluty wrote:the bouncers are really scary
The Fridge doorstaff were pretty brutal back in the day IIRC...but TBH both the Rex and Fridge were dirty fucking venues anywaypete bubonic wrote:Worst / scariest bouncers were the organised gang that used to bounce the Stratford Rex, they'd have these fucking mad aggressive dogs that they blatantly mistreated to get them hype. Then, they'd let specific guys/gangs do over all the cars parked round the venue. Horrible nasty guys.
One Nation & Ram vs Valve! Wooooooo.wub wrote:The Fridge doorstaff were pretty brutal back in the day IIRC...but TBH both the Rex and Fridge were dirty fucking venues anywaypete bubonic wrote:Worst / scariest bouncers were the organised gang that used to bounce the Stratford Rex, they'd have these fucking mad aggressive dogs that they blatantly mistreated to get them hype. They used to have a lot of Chinese guys in there out of it on crystal meth. Once saw a couple of blokes getting stomped by like 20 of them because someone had looked too long at someone else or something retardedpete bubonic wrote:One Nation & Ram vs Valve! Yeah someone died last time I was there. OD i think. Saw the bouncers beat up about 10 people. And so many screw faces. Jesus, how anyone was having a good time is beyond me.wub wrote:They used to have a lot of Chinese guys in there out of it on crystal meth. Some of the techno raves that DAVE the Drummer and the Liberator crew put on were pretty decent, but full of crusty types off their fucking nut. RecoverWorld wasn't a bad night round about 2001/03, but it got a bit aggy from time to time and they heat was ridiculous. Two of my mates passed out in the cloakroom queue once when the aircon went on the fritz.pete bubonic wrote:Yeah someone died last time I was there. OD i think. sounds like every post-2005 one nation night.pete bubonic wrote:Yeah someone died last time I was there. OD i think. Saw the bouncers beat up about 10 people. And so many screw faces. Jesus, how anyone was having a good time is beyond me.
I woulda been 20 on my first trip which puts this about 2002/3? But yeah I remember attending One Nation nights before (my first gig was at one) and they were good vibes all the time.TopManLurka wrote:sounds like every post-2005 one nation night.pete bubonic wrote:Yeah someone died last time I was there. was too young to ever reach the rex but i know the stories from 'young man standing' days.
its not to "be mysterious", they dont allow photographs inside so all the people can just 'be free' n shti without worrying about people taking pictures of their nasty antics. and their door polciy is so strict because it used to be a pretty small club (well as small as a massive ting like that can be) exclusive to the ga y scebne and now its got mad popular cos it was mysterious and i assume the people who used tio go there back in the day cant be arsed with randomers coming onto their scene and ruinign the vibe, whcih is understandablewub wrote:Part of the mystique they build up, same with the "no pictures" policy they have. Make people want to know what's inside so badly that they will take more shit trying to get in.
i'd heard it wasnt but apparently it is still... we saw bare other people get rejected toosoulkids wrote:is getting into berghain such a big deal on nights like substance??
Which is exactly what they're doing by making the door policy what it is.chekov wrote:its pretty shady really, i think it's one of those places i would like to go to at least once tho
