Too much ambiguity with cancer and heart attacks though

Different idea (and one I've suggested on here before);

Every year, the population visits the doctor to see if they're overweight. Those deemed to be overweight are assigned a different, higher tax bracket for the forthcoming year. This will effectively subsidise the extra expense they are causing the NHS by not looking after themselves.

The next year, if they are able to bring their weight down, the tax code is removed and they aren't charged as much again.

thats a great idea^

alternatively for one day a year it's fat people hunting season and you can get a permit to kill up to 5 fat people for that day

Not advocating the hunting of fat people (not like it'd be a fucking challenge anyway)

But the higher tax bracket idea...we'll see how many people have 'glandular issues' if it's starting to affect their takehome pay.

That costs the NHS ~£5 billion a year.

He replied: "Good, that's what you get for not having a good phone. I'm going to scar you for life."
Wow, that's really, really dark.

If we start denying treatment based on the results of lifestyle choices, then pretty much everyone would be fucked when it came to the NHS.

Guy I play American Football with snapped his leg on sunday playing the sport. His lifestyle choice was to play a dangerous sport. Should he be denied treatment for an injury gained as a result of a lifestyle choice? It's a question you've gotta ask if you're gonna deny fat people treatment for fat related illnesses.

Deny lung cancer treatment for smokers? Skin cancer treatment for people that sunbathe? Accidents as a result of drinking? How far do we push it? Deny life saving treatment to people that were involved in a car crash because their lifestyle choices led to them driving a car rather than taking a bus?

If we come down to treatment based on lifestyle choices, you could go proper far with it.

The scar you for life part makes it so much worse, the kid clearly had a full understanding of the effects of what he was doing..
